This is more what I was thinking of, I thought the clips themselves would be fine but there might be a lot of flex in the bottom of the front bar if just the top is secured.

    Change of plans.

alright, so after much thinking and throwing ideas around i've decided to ditch the circuit and drift spec build and instead build a drag only zed that i can also use at Powercruise type events.
why? well simply because i've loved drag racing for the majority of my life and still study everthing about it everyday. also it would cost a hell of a lot less to set up and start racing on the quarter, it was majorly depressing thinking about spending the huge ammount of money i don't have just to race on a circuit.
the way the car is now i don't have to change anything i've already done to drag it, suspension is still stock, bar the whiteline front swaybar, and all the weight loss is going to work awesome.
i don't really know of anyone who has done this for a 300 so lately i've been trying to research drag suspension setups but can't find much info at all. i'll just look at setups that Skylines and late model Commos are using i suppose. 90/10 shocks up front and good springs all round should work.
i'm keen as to put in a fully manualised auto and big stally with big drag radials for good launches and fast 60ft times.
i expect a lot of people will say its a waste of a great handling car to just go straight but, it'll stand out in a sea of rotors and commos, i love drag racing, its my car, and i'll do whatever the hell i want to it :D

Good luck :) Did you find a solution to fix the heavy weight bias to the front drivers side after you stripped everything out of it? Can corner weighing and setting coilover preload compensate?

not yet but im thinking about not just ditching the HICAS but also getting rid of power steering altogether. that would only take a little bit off the drivers side so i'll have to find things to relocate to the left i spose.
not sure if i'll go the coilover route yet or just get shocks and springs. one thing i did find out in my quest for suspension is some of the more experienced racers use quite hard springs in the rear, up to 500lb which is twice as hard as standard zed springs which are about 240lb i think. that stops annoying axle tramp.

I think once you gutted and stopped registering a '92 slicktop TT manual with velour interior people woud've said all they could about a waste :p best of luck with the drags.
