a friend mechanic and i were working on my 300zx today, found problem after problem, tried to lower the idle from 900 to about 750, instead, cylnders began missing looked at injectors, the engine was changed before i bought it, but the injector connectors were green from corrosion, they were a loose fit and every clip to hold them on broken off!, they were all just sitting on there, so we fix this, final hour of work on the car, and my mechanic mate drops the holding nut from the bottom side of the real fine idol adjusting screw, its aluminium, so a magnet wont pick it up, we've pulled all the pluming off the drivers side looking for the damn thing!! to make things worse the girlfriend was a bridesmaid at a wedding at 3 today i was meant to go, reception at 530, i was meant to be there to, and i only just got home now at 11!!!! anyone had this problem?? or needed to get a new nut for the throttle body idol adjuster??

Nuts Nope, never missed a wedding with my g/f to play on the Z....I like being able to breathe without assistance from machines. When your girlfriend gets home, yes you will need to get new nuts. Ok serious outcomes aside, the problem with the Z. Nope, never had that problem, but at a guess you would need to replace that with a new one....now wether you can just go buy one of these is another matter. Without knowing exactly what they looked like it's hard to say, but first try getting a replacement from a place that specialises in nuts, bolts etc. Next a wrecker (may need to buy whole part) or check if Nissan sell it by itself (you never know).... Hopefully someone else here has had this problem and can suggest a cheap way out. By the way, you were adjusting idle as per the guide in the tech section weren't you? Hope you own a cricket box or something else to protect your nads. Have fun. Cheers Mark

here's the thing. zeds are, without a doubt female (and hot). i mean they look the part, and when everything is going right make you feel like a king. but being female they can be high maintenance. and when things start going wrong, they are a real bitch. so now i put it to you that you have let your z think she owns you. and of course females dont like competition. infact they get down right nasty if they feel your attentions are going elsewhere. so, knowing that it was an important day to your other woman, of course the she (z) is going to sabotage you. i think your sig ":zlove: do it all for the z :zlove: " says it all. i'm guessing you wont be making that mistake again. wouldnt be the first man to have had trouble with the gf on account of a z.
oh yeah im in the dog house real bad!!! yeah nut that im after will be hard to find, there like a 6mm 1/2mm thread, its tiny, todays plan, block turbo pipes and any pluming that is exposed, degrease the whole engine, power steering leak and have a wire gauze tray underneath and pray the we can dislodge it from the cleaning process and we find it on the gauze...
