Since Mr Zed X (Rod) is banned for a week or so, I thought i'd post the post-event, since it was as much my day as Rod's This was initially meant to be a plenum put back on day for Rod, but Rod and I hastily organised my car to be taken to his place also, and it became a two for one plenum reinstall! NA and TT in harmony! It wasn't a big turnout, but it was great to meet some new members, talk some shit, have a bbq and of course reinstall the plenums! This is going to sound like a thank you list, but a lot of guys went above and beyond to help us out. We had: Rod (mr zed x) who was a great host as always, and my partner in crime with putting out plenums back on. We were both in deep water with the plenums, since neither of us had done this before, and both learned a heap! Rod and I did not sleep the night before, and in our fried state managed to put both plenums back on. The day / night was long and we did what we had to, finally getting both cars started around 11pm. (and pissing off his neighbours in the process with the revs from my TT). We had a few awesome adventures along the way, broke down in a service station due to a loose hose in my car, but sorted it all out before the end of the night. In addition, i'd just like to extend my appreciation to Rod's dad, who not only went from one car to another helping us both, but who put up with major head****s and fought back fatigue to make sure my car even got to Rod's in the first place. Not to mention the hospitality while we were there, providing us with food and drink. You are a champion mate and without you my car would still be sitting out the front of my place with no plenum and no drive. Martin (martini z) whose amazingly small and agile hands were able to put on my bastard hose for the bypass. Thanks mate and sorry about the scrape on your finger! Doug (red32) who didn't come at the crack of dawn for once, but who wasted no time in helping me do the bypass. Doug as usual offered constructive solutions to my pile of swearing at the plenum - it was great to catch up once again Dougy, too bad I didn't get to see the drive in your tuned NA - till next time! Mike (fat_mike) who we met for the first time. A quiet guy who knows his shit about zeds, and also has a very tough looking matte-black hatch. Spray the entire car mate, it looks awesome! Mike supervised out attempts and gave pointers to us noobs. Andrew (cleary) who I also met for the first time. A mechanic by trade, I knew Andrew would be able to help out. What I didn't know is that Andrew is an amazingly nice guy who took me to Billy's place (over 40kms away) and brought me back so that I could source the fuel dampener I needed to complete my car. Andrew's own car is a NA to TT converted slicktop which sounds tough and goes nicely - not one for Autosalon but one for performance - with a loud Nismo diff centre - daily driven! Mate I owe you one for all your help, so if you ever need a favour let us know! Inkar (Inkar) We all met Inkar for the first time, and apart from me, he was the other Russian-speaking member there. So we could have talked shit about everyone there and they would never know! Muahaha! Inkar has JUST bought a new black NA slicktop - a very clean example and one that I know he'll be happy with - congrats on your purchase mate! A newcomer to zeds and the world of pain that is plenum pulls, Inkar nonetheless lent a hand without hesitation - thanks mate! It was a great day, but I don't think we took any pics - which just sort of shows that we were either busy working or socialising! I still have a couple of little issues to iron out, but those will be done by mid-week, and I'm definitely happy with the outcome as is Rod - especially as Rod had his plenum polished and added braided fuel lines - which made the engine bay look very nice - but i'm sure he'll post pics for everyone whe he's unbanned! lol ps. A quick thanks to Billy (aazn) for taking the time out of his plans to meet up with me and Andrew and give me the fuel dampener - cheers man! Cheers, -Kirill

Sorry i couldn't make it this time guys. i DJed the night before and then worked from 10-3:30 so i was stuffed. Sounds like the day went well and i hope to be at the next tech day soon.
Glad you guys got it all done. Had a few things to do in the ayem, so it was nearly half-past-Saturday when I arrived. Helped re-connect a few hoses and generally get in the way just to amuse myself, and then had to leave early to be home by 5pm (prior committment) and I didn't think things would be completed that day. So, well done Guys!
Had a great time, thanks to rod and his family for hosting Was great meeting those of you I havent met before, as well as the old faces of course! I took a few snaps on my phone, forgot to take one of andrews car though which is a shame because I really like how raw and tough it looks!! (and if you look when i upload the pics, your the only one who is ALWAYS over the car never relaxing) so thanks for the effort and time you contributed. mike - i dont know where you came up with your display name, unless jenny craig helped, your definitely not fat LOL. but one thing you are is skilled with zed knowledge. kirill was right when he said your quiet. but you little one lined sentences helped more than any tech guide when your covered in sweat and in darkness haha! so thanks heaps for helping us out in those sticky situations. p.s - definitely spray the zed matt black. looks awesome !! andrew - well what to say.. when you first came in, i was like who is this guy lol.. new or something? you didnt really speak, kinda looked bored. but when we got back to work, mate you know your shit !!! if something messes up with the zed you'l be the first bloke i speak to haha! thanks so much for helping out. im not technically minded so to speak, but man, if your serious about the extractors and turb's let's do it brother haha! your a top bloke, a really great mate, and i look forward to hanging out / mucking around with the one thing we love the most.. bloody zeds lol. inkar - while your immac black slicktop was most definitely not a turbo A4 lol, its one of the cleanest pick ups i've seen in a long time, so well done on the purchase! like i said on the night, if all new zed owners were as eager as you, the zed population would be alot higher and the drivers would all want to learn! you constant trips to the engine on your car were a life saver aswell haha, so thanks for opening the hood 100000 times. and i hope one day i can give you a helping hand if you ever do a plenum pull so yeah. all in all, thanks heaps guys. was great to catch up with those good mates from the first tech day and meet some new members who are also good mates now without the combined help my zed wouldn't be performing anywhere near where it is now and its all thanks to you all. i hope someday down the track i can repay the favor somehow. so if your ever stuck, you all have my number, gimma a holler p.s - i'll add pics tomorrow.. to lazy at the moment haha. kindest regards. rod.
