Mono Flex vs Ultra Complex

Been doing a lot of research on coilovers. I've read a lot about Teins and Racing Logics... and comparisons between Super Streets against Ultra Complex but never against Mono Flex.
Now I've read that Tein is actually one of the budget brands in Japan (next to JIC), how true is this statement? The Mono Flex and Ultra Complex are both monotube shocks and both have adjustable upper and lower spring seats to adjust ride height and spring preload separately.
Racing Logics are available for around $1500 delivered, and Tein Mono Flex from Coz are ~$2k+ with shipping...

Can anyone give me an insight on what other differences these two coilovers have?

The difference is in the quality of the dampner unit, thats the main difference between quality coilovers & all the cheapies on the market. It costs manufacturers stuff all to get a nice shiny annodised body & pillowball mounts.
Mono-flex are a huge step up from superstreets so if the reviews are fairly line ball for the ss & ultra complex then consider the mono's better, keep in mind the reason you dont see comparisons with the mono's is because they're not in the same price/quality bracket.

Ideally what you'd want to find is some shock dyno results for both but they may be hard to track down.

Im no real fan of tein, a lot of their popularity is purely down to marketing (consider them the bmw 3 series of coilovers) but at least they've got a decent reputation for quality.

I guess it depends what you want from them, if your just keen to go low & have a lowish budget then it probably doesnt matter how well they ride. Mono tube is the way to go over twin tube though so if the budget doesnt stretch to the tein mono's then explore your options. Against the racing logics you'd have powertrix, spl, ams, hsd, buddyclub, etc or if you chose to go second hand you could grab something really nice. Just the other week I missed out on a set of near new aragosta's on yahoo japan, made in the Netherlands & sell for close to $4k new (plus shipping), I set my top bid to $1500 shipped & missed out by $13, remember anything for r32 gtr can fit so opens up a lot of options.

    cheers, Tim

id keep away from the racing logics there just another cheap coil over brand drive to well or last to long .
Just get what ever new teins fit into your budget. There a good quality shock that drive well .

Thanks for the responses guys. I think I'll go with the Mono Flex or maybe something better from Japan if I find one for a reasonable price...
