If mods gone him (GL) approval to post in FSBB any discussions relating to price and availability could be moved there...

Yes we have Royal Purple as well, we started doing RP about 2 years ago, and found the following:

-Motor oil, they make the best motor oil, in the XPR range, which is unbelievably expensive, even AU retail is not doing the XPR (I am guessing they do not know how to price it). Experience has taught me, people is reluctant on extremely expensive motor oils, generally speaking, because they got to change it ranging from 5 - 10K anyways.

So we concentrate on Mobil 1 and Redline for motor oils (Redline is expensive too, but their Gear Oils are unbelievably good, which help market the motor oil well).

-Gear oil, RP is not as good as Redline, by their company profiles (you can tell by just logging onto their website and see the types of Gear Oils each company makes). RP focuses on motor oils and has only a few types of gear oils, on the other hand, Redline has so many that it literally has a gear oil suitable for any car.

I use the Redline Lightweight Shockproof in my 03 WRX, magic oil that fixed the worn synchro straight away. The more general purpose gear oil, MT90 and MTL for the gear box, make your gear box like brand new.

We target the market very clear now:
-Motor oil: Mobil 1 (cost effective and good enough for daily street car, sometimes track cars use their EP range oils)
-Gear oil: Redline (a bit expensive, but nothing can compete with it, and it last long)

    Cheers

    Nick

    Have you looked into
Motul? Couldn't find this in your website when I looked recently.

Sorry guys, we do not carry Motul at the moment.

We have been struggling here whether to get them or not. A few reasons behind it:
-Motul is not a US product, our suppliers are from the US, so we can assume that we would not have much advantage on price compare to Mobil, Redline and Royal Purple.

-Motul is a good oil, but its market standing in AU is somewhere between Mobil 1 and Redline/RP, this "in-between" market standing limits the volume of the product.

We will try to bring them in at the end of the year (this is because our next two shipment orders have been placed, roughly every two months each, so we can only bring in other product at end of the year or early next year).

    Regards

    Nick
