    Still no good huh

    What'd you do with the egr, fix it or disable it? What difference did that make?

    You should post up the stuff we saw on ecutalk, mainly that;
    AFM working 1.4V at idle of 1000rpm, O2's working but pinned on lean while idle should be rich, TPS working 0.46 at closed, no error codes, CTS working ok and engine not overheating.

    Also the IACV (extra air when cold engine) was closed when the car was warm as it should be.

    Also boost leak tested, not perfect but no major leaks.

    I wish id read the article in the tec site before id seen your car, look under tec A-Z section under M for misfire. that article is quite good. Only thing is its mainly for engines running on five cylinders.

    Yours was more like unstable idle, wandering from almost stall to 1500rpm randomly.

    Theres 3 air valves

    When I saw the car I tried to diagnose all three;

    The aircon on causes idle to rise so that valve works.
    When the car is warm theres no air coming from the IACV.
    But the strangest thing was the AAC, pinned down closed (reads 15% on ecutalk) and car doesnt stall if i squeezed the aac supply line closed.

    So its able to suck air from somewhere it shouldnt be, which explains why its idle is lean and unstable.

    Hmm we never cleaned the throttle bodies, ali did you do that yet?

    its a TT with a NA conversion so vac line, harness and connector troubles are all likely culprits too.

    Check the connectons on your Coolant Temperature Sensor, this tells the ECU how hot the motor is, and corrections to mixtures are calculated based on the reading from the sensor.

    cts read good

    We checked that when he was over, the connections and it was reading ok on ecutalk.

    Low vacuum

    Sorry to be all over your post ali, im procrastinating at the mo! :)

    This car also had low vacuum, we found a couple of vac leaks so got it from 7psi up to about 14psi while 1000rpm idle but well should be about 18 to 20psi I think.

    Thats when i suspected the egr was jammed open, because during boost leak test there wasnt too much air leaking out. and the afm seems to hit roughly the right numbers relative to the revs.

    We couldnt check the fuel pressure, i didnt have a guage for that. Could low fuel delivery be the trouble here? Maybe a blocked fuel filter?

    Heat affects hoses

    Id still be looking for vac leaks.

    Hoses are tricky, esp old ones. They can be rock hard when cold but once warm they soften and vac sucks on em to make them seal.

    You had a few shady looking hoses and connections in your engine bay, did you get them sorted?
