missing at low rpm

After changing my plugs and installing a Microtech ECU I'm having a missing problem between 1000 and 2000 rpm. My car jerks/gitters through this range then runs nicely through the rest of the range. Now Cypher have told me its one of my plugs going into the coil packs as the wires are very stiff and look a bit brittle + one of the clips have broken a little. My car now idles at 1000rpm instead of 750rpm which he has now set for reasons he justified. My standard fuel pump is also making a whining noise like cars with upgraded fuel pumps.

Are faulty/warn plugs a common problem with missing? Whats with the fuel pump noise?

    Any thoughts guys?

Connectors are the biggest cause of misfires!

I had an itermittent misfire for a while that's why I replaced the buggers! While car is running disconnect one coil pack connector at a time and see if there is any difference. I found that each time I removed one the car ran rough except when I removed number 1 which made no difference.. ie was causin the miss in the first place. My connector was cracked!
Replaced all 6 with new ones from TTZ ($159.00 for 6) and cleaned all injector connectors as well. Runs like a dream now and feels ROCK SOLID!. Before it always felt a little off and would miss ocasionaly and hestiate from time to time.... now its solid as a rock! Feels bullet proof.
    Best 160 Bucks I've spent!
I am going to replace all the injector connectors next week, with new ones when they arrive from Tektrader69 group buy!!
    Cheers

I *believe* that the Microtech ECU does away with the

fuel pump control unit (I may be wrong but I recall something to this effect).

A standard ECU varies voltage to the fuel pump via the FPCU as needed. With some aftermatket ECU's they do not have this facility and therefore FPCU is bypassed (earthing white wire) so fuel pump operates at max voltage/pressure.

Re the misfiring, Planit Z is right about the wiring. Usually though it is more likely the injector connectors/wiring that is faulty rather than coilpack wiring. The coilpack wiring is fairly simple to test here
