a really realy pale shade of blue, which is what all Zeds should be in the first place!

Well, that's just the thing. A Blue Zed

gets even darker blue as it's accelerating towards you, then turns red as it accelerates away - it's still a blue Zed though Let's see a red one do that!!!!

I thought it was bold to have a coloured zed that wasn't part of the standard "Meh, paint 'em all red..." ethos of the Nissan assembly plant. x(
