Talked to my exhaust guyy today about these. Because of the tightness of fit I have to get a look at these so we can decide if they will fit in the spot we are aiming for. Any chance of a pic of the 2.5" ones?

i have these cats on my car, i must say that they work very good so if any 1 wants there's cats go for it, i have not lost any power to the back wheels.

i just put theme on about 4 weeks ago and they work well.

    just my 2 cents

    cheers Alex

I've heard good things about these from many members so I am considering forking out to get these. I was just wondering if anyone is using these with stock exhaust piping from the headers to the cats (not sure what pipe its called but I think its 2 1/8 inch pipes stock). If I use these cats on the stock part of my exhaust will I need to weld flanges in?

What I'm thinking of doing is saving up to get the front part of my exhaust replaced with 2.5 inch pipes and incorporating the cats into this. If the offer is still available for the next 6 months or so then thats what I'll be doing.

    quick question rob260

i am looking to get a set of these in 2.5" before the end of april.....
i already have the dump and test pipe combo sold be meber "egg" which will be used in conjunction with the new metal cats....
when we say 2.5" diameter, does this refer to the inside diameter of the pipe,or the outside diameter of the pipe?
also what is the length on the 2.5" diameter metal cats....im trying to figure out where i am going to moun t them in the exhaust system, but i cant seem to find dimensions....
    thanks for that
    cheers

Shoot a PM to Chris (rom-vg30dett). He also used the dumps and test pipes from Egg and I think he said that he mounted the metal cats in the same place as the stockies but I can't remember what he said.

Hi mate, I had egg type (not from egg but same design) dump and front pipes with my stock turbos and used the metalcats in stock location with no problems.

Internal diameter of the inlet/outlet pipes that come pre-welded onto the cat. Your exhaust shop will probably weld some flanges on so as they can bolt on to your dumps at one end and then weld on to your H or X pipe section.

With my system it was 2.5" dump and front pipes, flanged to 2.5" metalcats, welded to UAS X-systems resonator, flanged to existing cat-back exhaust.

Check out chris/mr g's post above, he has put up a pic with dimensions in mm. They will mount in stock location, but what are you doing from the cats back? You may wish to play around with location depending on what your plans are.

Whats the best place to mount the cats? Closer to the engine or in the stock position? Does it make a difference? I'm having the engine pipes done at the same time too in 2.5inch piping.
Then I'll save up for the headers.

I would just keep it simple and mount in stock location -that way you can still take advantage of the factory heat shield that stops your centre bearing from cooking.
