    guys can you tell me a place SOR where i could go to get my alternator installed??can anyone help??

    fun job to do if you get the tech article on it. Only problem I had wa getting my fat hands beind it to take off/on the wires. Theres not to much to it.

    Yeah not too hard. Drop the swaybar and that allows enough room to get to it.

    The nut on the top bolt is nearly impossible to put on. My alt didn't have a top nut by the time I got to it :eek: Never caused a problem though...

    hahahaha that !@#CKN nut! fun job lol. though saying that its pretty easy to do it yourself, give it a try im sure you can do it.

    so do you need to jack the car up or do it from the top??

    found the tech article..i dont understand anything cz i have no idea about vehicle's mechanical side

    which bit dont you get..

    you can do it from the top.. but jack the car up... to be easier for you dump the radiator and remove...

    then take the fan off... this will give you lots of room to work with....

    below the alternator on a bracket there is a bolt that adjusts the tension... undo that one....

    this will mean you can take the belt off

    take the belt off

    then undo the pivot bolt at the top of the alternator..

    this will mean the alternator is unbolted but still wired in...

    carefully pull it forward until the wires wont let it any more.. there will be 2 wires bolted on and a plug... undo them and that is it...

    done

    Yeah its just like big kids lego, save yourself a ridiculous amount of money and learn something at the same time! gotta start somewere?

    did you call jay?

    pull yours out.. get a lift to work or a taxi and drop it off to a auto sparky.. if you pull up there with it in hand they will rebuild it same day no doubt... then put it back in at night

    yup..called Jay but no answer..ohhh so rebuilding is the way to go then??

    quicker then getting a new one yes... will cost 100-300 or something but if your cars dead just get it fixed.
