Hi guys! How ya all been? Font know if ya remember but I did a thread showing my 300 when I first got it. Just though I'd pop in n let ya know what's been goon on. Well found a few downer points after getting it home... (was kinda expecting it as I only paid 4 grand) so far iv found the front left cheap aftermarket coilover has come loose and damaged the strut top. Fixable yes but me being me I want to prevent it happening again so looking at replacing all the coilovers with fully adjustable twin sprung coilovers. $$$$ pricy! While saving up for that the rego needed to be paid. Then decided to buy a 58 inch plasma and 2000w home sound system so while still saving to fix the suspension I got a flat. Once again me being me looked at all the tyres and yea they have a fair bit of camber wear so might as well replace all tyres. Looked closer and the mags are dented and gutter scraped really bad so looking at new mags before new tyres before new coilovers etc. $$$$ dam cars cost too much lol. Anyways the reason I started this thread is I want some opinions on what sort of mags would look nice on my car. It will remain silver. Here is a pic so you can remember what it looks like I'm waiting on a copy of photoshop from eBay to play around with different styles and colours. Cheers for reading
First up, whats with the guard indicators? Something strange that i havent seen before. Anyways, wheels.... Whats your preference. 5 spoke, 6 spoke? Do you like chrome? Brushed alloy? Coloured? Black with polished lip. Dish. Hektic Hellaflush? Size? So many choices. Whats your price range too? As you can buy el cheapos and or throw thousands at a set. I might suggest a 6 spoke black wheel with a polished dished lip. In an 18" size. As you've got it fairly low atm, it might pull off that look. Other wise something like 5 spoke polished alloy rim. Something thats periodic to the z32. Something thats got japanese pedigree. I think there is a thread in the archives that is purely a picture thread for silver zeds. Like the black and red picture threads. Maybe some good ideas there.
Silver car with silver wheels, nahhh. Black centre with polished lip. Price pretty good too, something like that maybe. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-W...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Some size and offset info in this thread http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2096759/Stern-ST8-wheels-are-on.html
Well see the problem is iv been a Holden man all my life and sorta perved on the 300zx when my vk was at the garage and now I own one. So I look through a magazine at the mags n can't picture them on my zx. Always liked the look of old school mags which would look rubbish on a zx. As a guide iv decided either 17's or 18's. (has 17's atm) will be as wide as I can go on the back and standard size on the front. Price is not an issue I'm happy to fork out the big dollars hence why I'm researching and spending 200 bucks on a Photoshop program just to match some mags to my car lol. The two styles iv sorta grown fond of are deep dish or where the spokes come right to the outer lip. If I went deep dish would be deeper on the rear then front. My mechanic suggested basically what you said with the black inner and polished outer. Personally I don't like the dead black but maybe a gun metal grey or charcoal. I like 5 spoke but hasta be really thick wide spokes. 6 spoke looks slightly more japanease style. I'd even consider some old school 3 spoke. Ultimately I don't want the mags to be to out there and draw attention away from the sexy curves and lines of the zx but to compliment and make a complete item. What do I search to find the silver zxs thread?
Hyper black goes well with silver. Go 18's, bigger brake preference and fatter tyre preference at a better price. Wider 17's are pricier than 18's (In W.A, not sure of Eastern States).
I want the 14 inch disc upgrade down the track. 18s sound good but I also wanna keep it completely legal as cops will be all over it! What's the legally biggest I can go on a z?
When police officers inspect vehicles and check tyre size, they usually look at the vehicles inner door frame. From factory alot of cars have a Rim and Tyre spec sticker located next to the Doors Hinges. Forum member "Benny C" sells the spec Rim and Tyre spec stickers. The 2000 model Zeds came out with 17 inch wheels from factory. And If one has the sticker positioned, I assume all zeds now have the 19 inch priveledge.
That's why Benny sells 17" tyre placards from the Stillen 25th anniversary edition... you haven't seem those for sale?
Think il stick with 18s cops love me in my vk commodore. They will be all over this one! Found a nice 7 spoke I recon will look sweet. But it's in a magazine and they don't tell you what they are so now I hafta search the net for it.
Yes I thought this was the case as well! So bigger mags ya need to lower the profile width. Do you know what the total rolling diameter can be?

A set of these would look nice...(found in another thread). The ones on the far left. They look like stock 350/370 rims but I haven't seen them here. Actually the rims on the far right aren't bad either
