From the FSM VCT operates with input from Engine Coolant - assume if not up to temp - VCT inop Engine RPM - some are saying 1800 rpm to 4500 rpm - can this be adjusted Air Flow and Throttle position - assume these have to be between 20-80% open Gear position - Hmm - maybe auto only - no gear reference to ECU from manuals FSM say 10 deg advance on inlet cam - is that all they do - is that camshaft deg or crank degrees What tuning can be done to VCT (Nistune) Cheers
VCT To the best of my knowledge, the VCT is operational from just above idle to 'release' (I think oem is 5900rpm). Only the release rpm can be adjusted (with the appropriate software). VCT can produce up to 10 degrees of 'additional' advance giving a maximum of 18 crankshaft deg of valve overlap.
