I am trying to source manual conversion parts for my TT.
From my research the na & tt parts are mostly identical aside from the gearbox, clutch & flywheel.

    Am I correct in this?
Trying to source the parts in the coming week - rewards offered for anyone who can source the complete kit in WA!!

the flywheel, clutch, trans bell housing are different between NA and TT.

NA TT Auto Manual 2+0 2+2 all have different driveshafts so there's many versions of the same item. Make sure to get the right one for your application.

You are best trying to source everything you need from the one vehicle.

NA clutch & flywheel are smaller than TT, do you must ensure that matching sets are used.

A TT clutch/flywheel assy can be made to fit in an NA gearbox if the castings inside the bell housing are removed. If you do this you will also need to space the starter motor out (install washers under the flange) so that it engages the larger flywheel correctly.

A TT clutch master cylinder has a vacuum booster to assist pedal feel with higher clamp load clutches. You have to use a complete TT pedal/booster/master cylinder assembly OR use a complete NA assembly. In oem form the TT also uses a network of vacuum tanks and a check valve to ensure that pedal feel is consistent when the engine manifold is pressurised. NA would obviously be easier to install depending on what sort of clutch you intend to use.

also dont forget a spigot bearing. you WILL need to take the auto one out and replace with a manual one. they are differnt sizes

Out of curiousity...seeing the price of zeds is pretty damn low, unless you have poured a decent amount of work into your car, and/or it has some personal value, wouldn't you better off selling the auto car, and buying a manual rather than spending another bucket load of cash and time on converting it?

In general it seems for the same condition a manual will sell for $1-2k more than an auto so unless you get a shop to do it the price isn't much different, and better the beast you know rather than buying another lucky dip Z.

There has been a decent amount invested in this car to date - I probably should have cut my losses some time ago but determined to complete what was started.

The only issue has been a chronic lack of free time to invest :zlove:
