Its ok Ross, I understand, after all mine is on blocks in the shed and still only painted in primer grey. You do know tho that you are going to have to pull the proverbial finger out and do something with that zed of yours , at least start it before I get mine finnished . your zed has been too long looking sad .

michandy are you painting in 2pac or acrylic?

 

Hi mate

I'm painting in acrylic, 3 - 4 coats of color and then 3 coats of clear with metal flake and 3 coats with out. Hopefully it should turn out ok.

I'm considering respraying in acrylic too. Gravity feed gun though so not sure how good it'll turn out over a wide area. Bumpers etc that I've done before end up looking good... whole other story when working on the entire body of a car though I'm guessing?

 

Not too bad

I'm using a gravity feed gun and having no real problems yet, but then I have only put the undercoat on so far. Used a 1.7 mm tip for Hi build primer and am using a 1.4 tip for paint and clear with metal flake. come down tomorrow to the foreshore and then back to mine in the arvo, you can check out what I'm using and see the results if you want, also have a couple of beers with us.

Ahh I'll come down maybe but my car desperately needs a wash and polish so if you guys are getting down there 9am I won't be able to sort her out in time to actually display her haha.

Andy, for me to get there by 9:00, I won't have my car 100% clean. It's pretty clean after the wedding (outside), but has a couple of blemishes. Is there someplace local to you where I can get some of that spray cleaner stuff?

I will have a few things for touch up/detail requirements if you need anything...

On the way to andy's you will drive past Auto one, Supercheap and Repco( just off the road) all within about 200m of each other. Supercheap is just right at the bunnings lights when you get to mandurah. Auto one is on the left and repco is right and down the street a bit.

Super cheap have a meguires waterless pack for about $50 it includes a dry mop, two nice microfibre towels and a bottle of spray. This is a great pack and will last a while.

 

Well I'll wake up early and give her a quick polish... nose panel still needs painting thoughhhh agh dilemma!
