depends on application Technically it depends on the application as some are better in different applications such as drifting, drag, stock. The term "Street" could mean all of the above combined or just some parts or even just stock, so the variables are too great to answer without knowing "what you intend to do". Once the application has been determined then the choice will be fairly obvious as to which type. Strength vs absorption of vibration are the determining factors. Solid metal engine mounts are the strongest but have less vibration tolerance (drifting etc.) whereas hydraulic are almost as strong with more absorption (drag etc.) and stock (o.e.m. solid rubber) have excellent absorption with less strength. Hope that helps answer your question JC
I don't know what you mean by hydraulic or solid rubber type, but if you search eBay there are plenty available from whiteline/nolathane/etc. UAS also sell them (but they are called "UAS mounts") and reasonably priced.
Adverts on ebay refer to hydraulic type and others don't mention hydraulics. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Holden-C...-/390891729519?ssPageName=ADME:X:PROI:AU:3160
Well if you want the best I have sets of low profile and refuse type BDE engine mounts coming in. Both are a good deal cheaper than the ls1 mounts on eBay.
Neither, They are rubbish and fail exactly the same as the OEM mounts but sooner. The same mount that fails on the zed after 150,000 klms fails on the V8 commodore after 50,000 klms Have a look at the Nissan mounts they have a steel hook that goes down the side and hooks under the bottom to stop the rubber stretching too much under twisting loads. The LS mounts don't have that. I replaced the same side mount on the LS1 ute I had, as OEM zed mount and it had only done 50,000 klms.... Buy OEM Nissan.....
