Hey, I don't disagree with you at all >>

You have copped a lot of shit for what you've done in the past, and I can understand how it frustrates you to see others make a similar post to yours and not cop the same shit you did.You are free to voice your opinion, and if you have a look, I didn't shut you up, I was just saying ease up and take a look. Doug didn't say anything that could harm you or anything, he simply linked to your post.As I said, I can understand your frustration, but maybe that 'fk you' shouldn't have been directed at Doug...Now, as you've said, it's all in the past... How about we put all this crap behind us and move on... After all, I'm sure a lot of us would like to see you at one of the next cruises or tech days, and we don't need a whole bunch of weird tension while we're there... =) >D< >D< :-Z

THATS ALLbe good to me and i'll be good back thats all i ask

beh....

I just think, it is not a P plater or non P plater issue. At the end of the day is the attitude of the driver. I know some drivers with no P plates, been driving for over 10 yrs and I wouldn't want to sit in the car when they are driving. I do know that there are nasty cops out there who are out to get people on minor technicalities, and some laws are really harsh. But as long as we drive safe and be obedient citizens, and keep a good driving attitude we'll be fine. Drive safe. :YD

Nasty Cops hey??

I was talking to a cop who was at a party a few weeks ago and it's pretty spot on that comment. He says that, "like most of us, it depends on our mood on that particular day". Granted that shouldn't be the way the law is used, but unfortunately in some circumstances it happens this way.
Another Story: My mate, drives Supra, he was parked outside work, got out of his car and cops drove past, came back and asked him if it was his car. Forgot his license (booked-fair enough), No P-plates (they'd been ripped off over night and didn't have any spare - booked) I think total he got a $140 fine and loss of 2 or 3 points.
Money wise... Ok
Points wise... Bit rough (IMO).
Although it could've been avoided and he should always be prepared, but sympathy was due, but looking back at it could've been avoided had there been prior planning to the day.
So, really, you can't be in the wrong if you do everything right.Cheers

no fine in vic for no license

you have 24 hours to front up to a cop shop with it to prove you are you and that you have one....or maybe im just lucky being a chick? I been done 4 times without my purse and therefore without my license but just had to show up with it within 24 hours (and by the way thats about 4 times in over 10 years of driving :p) :-Z

I've come to the same conclusion again...

I'm sorry that it took two times for me to realise this...Last time i said i'm pulling out of this forum and car club but i thought i'd give it another chance. This place just isn't for me or i'm just not for this place.i just wanna leave my last post saying somethingSome people have authority and maturity, some people WANT authority and maturity.
The main difference between the two are that the ones that have it know what to do with it and deal with different things in different situations, the ones that WANT IT aren't really liked by most people and dont know how to keep everyone happy. Cops are the same as people in this forums. The might have authority but they'll keep everyone a lot happier by going by their instincts rather than what they've been told or seen as the general stereo-type. Cops see a P plater in a sports car and they automatically see that car going into a pole or see it killing some little kid. the world isn't perfect and neither are we. thats right i might not have as much experience as most of the grandpas that still think they're young by owning a 300zx (red32) and think they're the wisest of the wise and that they're top shit coz they can make fun of someone. Religion says don't drink yet 90% of population in australia drinks, religion says dont have sex before marriage yet 90% do. whats right and whats real are two different things and some people have to face it.with that i say good luck to everyone in the club and "community" as some call it. but a community supports its people not abuse them.
Most of what i've said doesn't apply to most of the people on this forum.Take care and good luckSam

Why do you suppose that I, and several>>

other people on this forum (a forum you claim to hate), gave you meaningful advice on how to hang on to your licence:?) The reason, Sam, is because we are a community, a community with various points of view it's true, but a community with one common theme. We all love Zed's, and we like to enjoy each others company. Some of your above post, has some valid points, but blaming everyone else for your woes, does not feature amongst those points.
You blame the Police for using stereotypes to judge "P" plate drivers, but you used the same type of reasoning (reasoning that you think is wrong) when you decided anyone that you think is "old", has no valid reason to own a Zed (other than to cling to lost youth).
Spit your dummy, if you must, but it won't solve your problems. Taking a little well intentioned advice, might. It would also go a long way toward removing the overall aura of a "tantrum toss" that the rest of your post implies.Stick around mate, nobody hates you (some of us just don't understand you sometimes) >D< >D<

14. BigCol

BigCol That's what she said...

How about...

"I was one of the 'slow' red zeds holding everyone up on the Kinglake cruise" :D

15. BigCol

BigCol That's what she said...

Maybe you're absolutely right. (LONG)

This forum might not be the place for you. I have met you twice and initially thought you were an ok dude. But then the Kinglake cruise, followed by your 200kph roof post changed most of my initial impressions about you. You drive like an idiot. On that cruise you alternated between 120 and 40kph, and you didn't even see the 4wd speed camera with Police written on the side in very large blue letters as you were too busy trying to prove to Sead what a big man you were and how quick you can drive. What if someone from one of those stalls ran across the road? Then you complained that some of us were holding you front guys up.

News flash Einstein - a cruise is just that. I can only speak for myself in that I don't want to attend Zed functions where people break the law to prove who the bigger man is. I would like to go and meet like-minded enthusiasts. If you want to organise a track day I'd probably go to that too.

What you need to realise is that us older guys may just be a little wiser than most "boy racers" like yourself. We've been there and done that and have come to the realisation that the road is NOT the place to fool around.

The problem is not with the attitude of many forum members here, nor is it the Police. It is you. At the first slight challenge you cry and spit an insult at Doug who I have found to be an extremely likeable guy who has made valuable contributions to this forum.

I myself didn't flame the second dude who lost his targa as I took some of your previous comments onboard and decided to not flame this guy. But then you post and it's all about you and how we don't love you. Maybe we took some of your advice onboard - did you consider that possibility?

News flash - you need to grow up. And I just hope you don't have to learn the hard way by killing or injuring someone or yourself.
And most of all I also hope that someday you decide to take some of this advice (not criticism) onboard, moderate your attitude and join us again.

16. Kalus

Kalus Finally dug myself out

hang on, I think I agree with Chili :)

Except for the 'Stick around mate' part :) I say piss off, grow some balls, thicken your skin and stop crying. Everyone has their opinion... whether or not it agrees with yours is irrelevant. This is a PUBLIC forum, it is not a club, and everyone has their right to say what they like. Get over it, get a grip, and WAKE UP. You must have known you'd get some sort of flame for your post.... my suggestion.... if you don't like the responses, don't post in the first place :) Anyways, I doubt that you will leave altogether, everyone knows this is the best place in Aus to come for Z32 advice/help/support and to give it up would simply be ..... stupid.

Cheers
KyneEdit: Please note that this post does not imply any cohesion between Chili and I. Any thoughts/opinions stated above are solely my own and should not be confused with the ravings of an utter lunatic. In addition, the last statement in no way refers to Chili or other members of this forum no matter how appropriate :)

18. Baroo

Baroo TIMMAY!

Hey champ. (Dr_zx)long as well sorry.

I think Red32 was reffering to a question that Blade83 made as to who was driving at 200kph. Yeah it slightly was a slur and probably could have been worded differently but the same issue raises it's head again and again.

Do you really deserve to drive a car and not just the z. Having re-read the kinglake cruise and other people's posts i too think that you need to take a step back and look at what you are doing not only for everyone elses safety but also your own. Don't think we're 'out to get you' we are only trying to help you in a difficult time.

As i've said i was like you are at the moment and i can honestly say loosing my licence, in hindsight, was the best thing that could have happened to me because i thought i was invincible. Yes i too was pissed off, lost my job, had to move back home, had a juvenile dummy spit but tough sh*t.

Would you prefer to linger inside a wooden box?

There are other alternatives. Look for the positives and don't dwell on people doing their job/ educating you about driving. Most of the people i've met on this forum have been an unimaginable pool of wealth and have made me realise where to take that tingle in the right foot we all have.

As for the stereotype of the police picking on "p platers" every time i was in the wrong and pulled over they were only doing their job, other times i've had police check to see if i'm o.k, yes believe it, and generally will only look twice at me if i'm doing something illegal even though my car does stand out in a crowd (see avatar).

So really its up to the individual what happens to their own driving because if your in the right what can they really do to you! Waste your time and thats about it. Just think what the roads would be like without cops, I'd hate to think.

Bye Sam...

Take care.. just a couple of thoughts...
You say .."Cops see a P plater in a sports car and they automatically see that car going into a pole or see it killing some little kid".... Maybe if you had seen as many young drivers and their cars wrapped around poles as many cops have you would think differently.
Last week here in Mosman a 17Yo that had her Peugeot convertible for about a week lost control of it killing an 18YO passenger.. tragedy is this crash did not have to happen(most don't) I have checked out the scene.. I think with a few months more experience she might have got out of it.. but she didn't, now she and her surviving friends have to live with that.
I may be considered a senior member here and I try not to take the position that younger folk do not know much.. but it pisses me off big time when they take the attitude they know everything and have nothing to learn. Those cops picking on young "bold" drivers may just be trying to turn them into "Old" drivers

Unforseen problem!

In view of the post from Kalus, I would like to change my opinion to something more controversial and unacceptable.
This decision has been forced upon me, due to the risk of being associated with people who drive green Zeds.:p :p
