Lucky for me I was able to lose my Zed keys a while back and need to get another cut. If I take the door panel off, is there a code to give a locksmith to get one cut? To get a locksmith out to cut one on site will be around $300. Not very nice. Thanks for any help.
Don't know if it's true or not, but the guy that sells blank zx keys on ebay said to me if i gave him my vin number he would cut them.... I didn't go down that path so i don't know if it works or is even possible, but its worth a try he chages $12 a key plus $8 to cut
Thanks guys. The ebay fellow sounds like he could be a touch dodge. Anyone had any experience with him? Now to pull apart my door....
IMO if its just $20 its worth a shot, theres not much else he can do with your VIN (if he wanted to) is there?
sorry to hijack sorry just some information for you guys if you have a broken key too...if you have your stock key...near the base of the key where the black grip begins is an id which is in a system that has you key's cut on it...i found out when my key snapped that its on some system out there RYan
No, but he would have your home address which is where your zed is located? if he wanted to he could show up at your house in the middle of the night with the keys to your car... just a thought. Maybe have the key sent to a friends house, or have it held at the post office? That way it isn't possible for anyone to track down your zed if they get their hands on the keys...
