from the rear of the engine... It's running pretty quick and car is runs hot after a small amount of driving... Anyone?? As I'm not driving it at the moment.
Thanks for the prompt reply Wiz... So, I need a hoist and then I should be able to identify those hoses and and no dramas to be able to replace them without removing say... the gearbox??
If it is the heater hoses - no need for hoist they are accessible from above. They are located right behind the upper plenum. Might need to move a bit of wiring etc to get at them. It's do-able. Cliff
could also be one of the turbo coolant hoses which is a shocker to do (I did it about 2 months ago) and means gearbox out and plenum off - not fun. Maybe if you go down that route and budget permits it might be time to do some other work? ie clean injectors, new o-rings, new rear main and clutch etc
*cough* replace turbo seals! To me it sounds like heater hoses. To which I've had the pleasure of changing. I've got the scars to prove it!
I hope its a heater hose .... In my case (2 weeks ago) it wasn't. Here was the evidence Here was the cause And here is what had to be done to fix it Some people reckoned the job could be done without pulling the motor, but Joe at Nissport said straight away it was a motor out job.
Yes there were and they were working initially ... I think msn might have some issues as I can't bring them up on my site at the moment.
Re: I hope its a heater hose .... I had the same pipe go! Yeah, I know that right-angle pipe well. It sits about 3/4 the way up the block, and runs around the rear right-hand side of the block, right? Luckily, that pipe went like 2 weeks after I bought my baby from a caryard, so they fixed it under warranty... No motor out job tho, they fixed it in two days, engine in bay. Simon.
