I couldn't start the Zed today. It was stone dead - nothing.

I called up RACQ and the service guy found that the main wiring to the Starter Motor was loose. He managed to connect it back up again, and the Zed was fine after that.

He warned me that I shouldn't drive far - and I should have it looked at asap

However the way I look at it is if he reconnected it, why should I fork out a a few hundred bucks to have the wiring replaced, etc?

Is it a common thing on the z32? Is it important that I get it looked at, etc?

    Thanks for your time

Lol, good thing i wasnt working in that area huh. :D

As long as its been connected back up then it should be ok, its hard to know really. it should be ok till next service.

If you are concerned about it, jack the car up and have a look or take some pics. Or, cruise past my place and ill have a gander.

He may have a good reason to be concerned, just make sure the wiring is not freyed or anything. Just do as rollin said and take a good look and use your best judgement, it will be quite obvious if it's freyed badly and needs replacing.

lol,get under and have a look ;) ,theres no need to pay hundreds of dollars to fix it if it was loose, dont listen to what those wanna be zed mechanics say

Of course it is ,unless you dont mind breaking down somewhere and calling them again :)
A good practice of any maintenance is to go over every connection on your zed,if you had of,this probably would of never have happened in the first place

I know roughy where it is, but there's so much! I think i'm getting mixed up with some kind of oil pump..

Not sure if it matters - it's an 90 NA 2+2
