Just curious how did you write it off?

Just judging how much I should be babying it at first lol

Mate, there are no guarantees on the condition of any secondhand car.
Having access to the full Service history of a one-owner car, is the best guarantee you are ever going to get(and you can check that the mileage is true and correct).
Ignore all the "Kindergarten experts" who tell you there are much cheaper/much better cars to be had(where is the proof of such claims?).
Genuine Auspec Z32's bring much better prices than all the jigsaw puzzle Jspec's(and you don't need to worry about being "defected").

Mate, I am game to predict, that if you decide to pass this car up, there will be several of your so-called advisors who will dive in and attempt to snap it up!
Such is the way of the world we now live in.:(

Hmmm...that sounds like pretty sound advice Chili :)

Will ring him tonight and see if I can whittle him down a little more. Still have to talk to my parentals about it though  that will be an interesting chat.

While it's pretty unlikely that anyone is actually advising you against getting the car so they can get it for themselves it is very true that an Australian delivered Z32 will almost always get a higher price than an identical grey market import.

If nothing else they are far easier to insure.

This does not mean that they are better cars as such so I would still encourage you get it looked at by someone who knows their way around Z32s before you hand over your money.

It's a bit of money to spend on a Zed given the price you can get them for these days but if it's in good condition and well looked after you will be enjoying that long after you have forgotten the extra dollars you spent buying it.

Well I kinda gathered everybody ITT already had Z's and/or are in a different state. Not too worried about somebody else snapping it up :)

The only problem is that you're in Vic...I don't really wanna travel that far to have a look at it :( the other Zed is literally 10mins drive away lol.

Regardless, if I don't end up buying this one I will give you a call :)

That's what pics & the internet is for! Plus I'd like to think there would be a few Vic members who will vouch for the quality & condition of my car! (looks to WYKKED, Kr4usy, Big Col, Jedi-77, RedZedMikey, Blipman, HYPER 101, Red32, Baroo, ZXTT-1, Tektrader, Peter Black, Zealous - just to name a few!) ;)

Then it's just a matter of a mechanical check - which I will get Joe Imbesi to do the roadworthy anyway! & a cheap 1 way flight to Melbourne! - then enjoy the test drive home! :D

I bought this car from Sydney when I lived in SA & drove it back to Adelaide via Melbourne! & I just bought my TT in Brisbane & drove it back to Melbourne via Sydney! Both times I went through this process & by buying from trusted members the cars NEVER missed a beat on the drives home! ........2 of the BEST test drives I've ever had! :zlove::zlove::zlove::zlove:

If anybody wants to vouch for Zedhed now would be a good time to start - I want to get a Z before I go to Thailand in 2 weeks so I have something to look forward to when I get home :)

Sorry I haven't posted in here in a while, been pre-occupied with stuff...

Looks like the white Zed has been sold :( isn't on CarSales anymore. Will probably ring the bloke tonight and see what's going on.

Still in the market for a Zed though - there's not much else around that fits me as well as the Zed!

@ZeDhEd...we will see what happens. If you put mufflers with quad outlets on I'll be interested more :D

Am I the only one that can't seem to find the edit button today? Oh well...

If you have a Zed for sale don't be afraid to let me know :)

EDIT - There's the edit button. What the hell, why isn't it there for my other post?

word of advice: ease into driving quickly. its a temptation be lured in by the zeds good handling and this u can do anything in it, then one day you'll overstep the mark and not know how to react. Personally my crash was because i was leading a group of skylines down a mountain on damp roads at night

geez you can't please these young blokes these days! :p
trust me my NA with the mods it has got would be more than a great starting point for a young driver! ;):zlove::zlove:...........& if you really must have quad tips then hunt around for a good price on Magnaflows! ;)

Lol, I'm actually looking for as less mods as possible because of insurance. Though I want to keep the quad tip thing happening :-D

Agreed...I couldn't sleep last night because I was torn between getting it or not and I wake up this morning and...it was gone :( so it's back to the drawing board lol

I'll have to keep that in mind. Might take a defensive driving course to try and get use to the handling?

Went to reply to this at work but it was home time lol.

Doesn't quite raise the hairs on my neck as much as the other one did. Interior looks tired and the engine looks like it hasn't been given any love for a while lol. Plus there's no airbag?

I was looking at the slicktop in the Classifieds section, looks nice but it's Auto and 2-seater...two things I was trying to avoid lol. Guess it would be nice with a SAW kit and line controller though (but then wouldn't that bring it to the price of a nice manual? Sigh)

lol the other was only a stock aus spec, nothing that special apart from the kms.. and if it was a 91, which i think it was it didnt have an airbag either;)

You're right there, I didn't realise the other one didn't have one either lol ;)

Couldn't be stuffed writing the rest of my response so I'll do it tomorrow :zlove:

    red32 You talkin' to me?

Russ's Zed is one of the nicer examples available now. AusSpec, mildly modified (shouldn't be too much of a problem insurance-wise) and is one of the best sounding NA's around. Also, it's RED and he doesn't flog it!
