What do you need VIN numbers for? I thought this GB was for either: Complete kit incl. door mouldings & pillar/targa weather strips OR Door moulding kit As far as I know Kuruma Z only make the door mouldings, not the weather strips - even in the complete kit it states that the weather strips are oem. I am confused as to what part numbers are required?
Yes you are right But as WazTTed was unable to get any info from those guys & due to personal commitments, he asked me to take over. I work for Nissan & as ive stated above i cant use anyone elses part numbers as they to not correspond to the OEM parts. Also you will notice that those kits are not covering all the Zeds ie: 2 seater slicktop, 2seater t-top & 2+2 t-top as i am. The Nissan parts catalog asks for specific chassis number & model number so it can narrow down the parts for that model. When i go in there blind it gives me no less than 9 different listings. I will also have to make these 'kits' up myself as Nissan OEM has no such thing, they only have listings for 1 piece. So please be patient as this is not a small task. I will be making up similar style kits that are complete with window mouldings & door mouldings. I hope i can get around having to buy a complete quarter glass also. Im hoping to have prices by the end of today. I would like to think that i can get them under $419US as stated in that link. Cheers
Ive got bad news & more bad news Jeez where do i start, its not good at all. The pillar mouldings are all ex Japan & Nissan has a back log of 8 weeks with parts from Japan. To make things worse i looked around for other peoples prices to see if it was worth while doing this & it appears not. I simply can not compete with Simon from TTZ. His prices are roughly Nissans trade prices. He is either making no money at all or he has a little asian connection, if ya know what i mean The piece of moulding that is at the base of the quarter glass is not available from Nissan by itself. In order to get this you have to buy a quarter glass window which is roughly $180:thumbsdown: The door moulding is roughly the same price as Kurumaz ($340) but that is only for the door piece not the quarter glass piece. I could go on with this but i feel this would probably be wasting peoples time & mine. So im sorry to say i can not do anything here & there is no real great prices to be had. You guys might have to try Simon for a group price. As far as i am concerned this group buy is closed as i can not do anything- but if someone wants to try other avenues you are more than welcome. James p.s thanks to those who supplied part numbers & vin numbers so promptly also.
Mate you are a clown.... For starters the Kuruma Z kit has the door and quater moulding kit, this was the whole idea because as you said if you buy from Nissan they only sell it with the entire quater glass. So far this group buy has been delayed, had a change in organiser, and JAYMZ you should be talking to people overseas about ordering in the whole kits and getting discounts. It doesn't suprise me you have bad news, you have been trying to talk to Nissan!!! If everyone here is happy I will attempt to talk to people overseas and come back with an estimated cost so that people can express their interest once the cost is known???
Real your neck in mate I was asked to help out as was described & tried to keep this moving since WazTTed had no luck with karumaz. I didnt see you jumping up to the plate i did what i could & tried to source the parts locally. There is no need to call people names & make accusations especially when hiding behind a pc. Yes that is right i work for Nissan & am proud of that, where do you work- Mcdonald's?
SORRY Jaymz I'm sorry you got given a serve, just for trying to help out, at least the mud thrower had the sense to attempt to delete his serve, and if no one actually involved has the sense to actually say "thanks for trying" and "sorry for the undeserved abuse", --- then I will. I've taken advantage of a lot of group buys and other honest for sale item offers, and I was watching this one with interest, I would be really disapointed if the two members' responses above made you, or anyone else, re-think and back away from trying to assist the rest of us. And just for the record, i do not know who the h#ll you are, and I'm not after any deal.
I am sorry... Had a bad day at the office. I went overboard with it, and I do respect that you were trying to help out, and thank you. It was never made known to me that help was needed, and I just offered to step in or "jumping up to the plate" so i feel your accusation in that regard was ill founded. In regard to my comments about Nissan I was only implying that Nissan have overpriced parts locally, to the point where it is cheaper for TTZ to buy from concept Z or courtest parts overseas than from Nissan Australia, and so it is very much an exercise in futility to buy these items locally. Furthermore Nissan Australia is far less likely, in my opinion, to offer GB discounts to the tune that say Coz or Kuruma Z might. For the record I work in the import/export freight forwarding & customs brokerage industry, I am in charge of import air freight in Brisbane. However I do aspire to one day work at McDonald's, or Nissan, one of the two.:thumbsup:
Yeh no worries Its good to see that there is still some men amongst the boys. It did go a little sideways there but with that aside it would be good to see this still go ahead as there is alot of interest. I genuinely thought that because i work for Nissan i could offer some really great prices on these parts to everyone so yes you are right in a way i shouldve checked prices before posting. One of the reasons why Nissan Australia has higher prices than some places is because of Australias stupid packaging laws. All products from Nissan Aus you will find are in a brown box with a Nissan stamp. All old Nissan stock from foreign countries is in a white box with Nissan stamped all over it in blue. This old stock is available cheaply if you know the right people to get it from. An inside connection maybe? From what i know the US stuff is in a plastic wrapper with nissan stamped all over it & this can be had alot cheaper also. Again you have to know somebody or get it from concept Z or the likes. I hope that gives some insight to Nissan Aus high prices. James p.s just for the record, i actually like McDonalds
well put, james ..... a genuine attempt to provide a genuine sevice to members after the original proposer could not continue ..:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: and a note for aK .. you do have a history of upsetting people on the forum .. when you do grow up, and if then you have a problem with nissan, as an adult, you could complain directly to nissan yourself >>!!! .. and by so doing, perhaps contribute something to the forum, for a change ..!!!!:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:
Well put Baz Thanks James effort that counts. Fair bit of interest in these so maybe grumpy pants above will have a crack at getting us a good deal
