Morning all! Well I just got back from a reasonably long drive around the bottom end of australia and just thought I'd post some fuel consumption figures. Some things to consider are: It was between 35-42 degrees each day Air con was on all the time Mixture of highway at 100kph, city driving, windy mountain roads etc.. Manual TT 2 seater, 2 people and full of luggage Exhaust and intake, rest stock Driving style varied from cruise control on to flat out Optimax or Ultimate only Total Kilometres: 2153 Total Litres: 219.5 L/100km: 10.19 Does this sound about right? Some sections of highway only recorded around 8.9L/100km..
10L/100km is pretty good for a TT, 8.9 is excellent! That gives you a theoretical range of about 700-750km per tank. You've just achieved something which many TT owners will tell you "can't be done". Best I've done in the NA is 8.3
17L! Do you have shares in Oil or something? The worst I've ever had around town, and that's giving it a bit is about 14L... normal is about 13L, but fair enough I am running stock boost, injectors etc.. But to be fair the engine is in TOP mechanical condition.. the previous owner to me was more anal than elton john. He had timing belt done at 90,000, 110,000 COMPLETE engine wiring harness replaced due to corrosion (cost $3300) Etc... Not that I'm complaining! I have a book of receipts totaling $25,000 on this car since it was imported in 1996 Do the manuals use much more fuel than the Autos? At 100kph it's pulling exactly 2500rpm in 5th.
i get 300km to 48lt... is that good? on a good day i get 300km to my tank.. but i dont like it going under the last quarter marker.. i fuelled up tis morning before driving to 90TTZ's place and i realised i had done 302km to 48ltrs or fuel.. what sorta ratio does this make? is it good? stretch
My recent long trip (1900km) returned 11.34l per 100km... and I was pretty happy with that. You have done quite a bit better. Cheers:zlove: Barry
That's the same I get pretty much. I get 300k's when it hits the last quarter mark, then I fill up again.
Re: My TT must be in good condition then.. Me to. I regularly do a Waterford to Gympie return trip and have 1/3 of a tank left after the 475km trip.
