Now Driver's Door can't be Unlocked (inside or out or with alarm) and the doortrim is on and door is shut Could they have put a rod on wrong or its just popped a clip ?? I can get in the car on the left side with key ! I will take it back to shop tomorrow , but need to know the best and easiest way to get door opened or unlocked ?? Could someone PM me a bit of help please ??
A brick There are two wires from memory well more like rods they go to the door hadle and the other goes to the door lock if you can get a coat hanger down the window seal to pull up the lock rod you might get it undone. To be honest id take it back to the crash shop for them to sort out coz once you mess with it they can use that as an exuse not to do it.
You can remove the handle trim from the door while it's shut on the inside, then you might be able to get to the rods to open the door. And where is the piccies of the car?
how can you take it back to the shop if you cant get in ,you may have to get a locksmith out to pick the lock
will try it that way ! cheers. will post some pics when its completely finished with all interior back in + some new SS teins and wheels as it looks a bit sad sitting on 17 x 9.5 on the back with widebody kit and still at standard ride height. Soon !
talk about "excreta occurs" .. !!! .. trust it can be fixed w/out too much heartburn ... ..cannot wait to see the final pics of this beastie ...
hahaha, Yeah have to make sure h/brake is off ! especially without console in car !! I suppose i could always pop right side targa off and do a bit of "Dukes of Hazzard" entry into the car lol
Thanks baz ! i can't wait to see the final result either ! lol also a slight tail-pipe rattle with new (shorter) mufflers + tips ! luckily panel shop is around corner from muffler shop .
the door handles are connected to 2 rods....one for opening the door and one for the lock mechanism... my passenger door didn't want to lock in the past, when I went to change my door handles I noticed the "locking rod" had become detached...so just pop the rod back into the handle and it works perfectly now. the yellow thingy on the bottom right is the part that the "locking rod" connects to...it just clicks in, and the hole on the handle in the middle of pic is where the door opening rod sits... hope that helps...
