lock barrel

    Hey guys,

    I am putting my door handles back on the zx and i cant seem to remember how the lock barrel is held into place. i think its a screw in the bottom?, if so does anyone know what it looks like?

    No, they are held in place by a semicircular clip that locates in those slots in the handle.

    The screw holds the the trim ring in place

    Here's an exploded view of the door handle components. The wire clip that Tektrader is referring to is to the extreme right of the lock barrel.

    And here's the rear of the door handle when fully assembled. You can see how the wire clip fits over the lock housing.

    whats that small rectangular thing in the middle?

    That's an earthing point, maybe for a factory-fitted alarm or perhaps the illuminated keyhole that we never got. It won't matter much if you don't fit it, but if you want to know where it goes it's under the left-most screw in the second pic.

    Sorry to thread jack but what's the story with the illuminated keyhole? When would it light up...
