    Hi All
I have reassembled my engine, after what I can only describe as my first major repair on the motor, but having not worked on these cars before I have a couple of questions that I cant glean out of the help files,

    1. I have removed the EGR but dont know which solenoid to block off I am assuming it is not the one going to the boost controller do I just cap it off
2 on the rear of the engine their is a vacuum connection was this for the EGR is it to be reconnected - to what?

You need to plug the exhaust pipe on the exhaust and plug the e.g.r port on the little black valve near the drivers side fuse panel. Just follow the little vacuum hose from the e.g.r. Also the pipe under each side of the plenum , most just use a plate. I found a good write up in the tech section with pictures under e.g.r delete so do a quick search. On a side note does the v.t.s solenoid in the picture leak oil as it is missing the rubber cap ?.
    Cheers Dave

Ok, your EGR has three nipples. One on the top which runs to a T to a line that is shared with the AIV solenoid. One on the top that runs to a hard line at the rear of the motor that in turn runs to the EGR valve., One on the bottom that runs to a barb underneath the drivers side throttle body. You need to delete the T in the line from the AIV and cap the barb fitting under the throttle body.

Dave I have fitted a EGR delete kit from coz so thats all good both of the VTS look like this do they leak I hope not but that is the reason I took the motor out there is oil coming out of every orifice.
1, I have replaced the intake cam gears, oil seals + c.shaft seal
2, replaced tappet cover gaskets and serviced the lifters while the cams were out
3, done the water bypass on the plenum removed all the plumbing
4, replaced the rear main seal and sump gasket
    5, replaced J hose on P/Steering pump
so I guess I need to seal those vtc's to be safe yes?

Rob I think I get what you are saying I will look again in the morning

Tektrader Z32 Hoe, service me baby

Clean any oil off them and use non acetic silicone to seal them up. ( the one for guttering )

Put it on thick and push it into the back then smooth it off like you are icing a cake
