I just had my tweed seats recovered in Black leather. They came out absolutely beautiful. I bought the leather in the group buy from NSW leather co. Had my sagging bolster fixed too. Big thanks to Gavin at GT-trimming for doing such a great job. Anyone looking for quality interior work should check out their website (www.gttrimming.com.au).

I can't wait to get my interior back together (in the middle of installing a carputer) and put these back in!

Looks great Pete! Im getting mine done quite soon. Also going to have the seats 'toughened up". Can really make out all the details in the large pics :)

Im sure they'll be even better once you get to put them back in ;)

    Cheers, Andrew

    Thanks guys,

Gavin cut me a pretty good deal, considering the detail that went into these seats. Leather (which is pretty high quality and extremely soft) plus all retrimming (sewing + fitting + bolster repair) came to about $1050. In my opinion it is definately worth it. I looked into the leatherette seat covers and similar products for around the $400-$500 mark, but on top of that you have to fit them (which if you want done professionally you are looking at $250-$350). I am yet to see a DIY fitted set of the vinyl covers that fit well and come close to looking what my seats look like. Plus mine are real leather, not plastic. You just can't beat the look, smell and feel of genuine leather. Well worth the extra cash. After all, you will only retrim once.

Yeh, that is a pretty good price. I was quoted just over $2000 by another upholsterer to do the whole job. Apparently the Z seats are a prick of a job to do as they are similar to a racing seat, and have so many parts that need to be covered, therefore more sewing and harder to fit.

That looks very, very good. I'm looking into this too, just trying to find some good leather. Apparently Connerly leather is good to use?

Yeah cant be expensive! I've got a contact who does repairs for Holden, if there are any problems with their leather seats. Will do my whole 2+2 for $2000 :D In high quality leather of course ;)

    Gavin = GAVZ on forum

Not sure if you guys are aware or not.

Gavin from GT Trimming is actually a member on here.

He doesn't get on much anymore, but occasionally has a browse.

Use to drive a black zed with number plates 10RDZ (LordZ)

Now he drives a beautiful Yellow zed that looks a treat as well. :)

He's an absolute champion and knows what he's doing when it comes to trimming. :)

Gav has rejoined under a new username since buying a new zed. viper_*** I can't remember the exact name sorry. He does a lot of high quality show cars, which take up a lot of time. I can't tell you whether he does steering wheels or not, but its definately contacting him through his website www.gttrimming.com.au . Let him know you are from the forum, and I'm sure he will help you out or put you onto someone who can.

I am really happy with the price, and the quality, although I have a feeling this price may be a little less than what Gav usually charges, especially when you consider who many days labour went into those seats.

Will post some in car pics up soon

I forgot to mention the most important part - This was a birthday present from my fiance! (not quite the price of a diamond ring, but far more useful I reckon!)

Does Gavin work from a pre-made pattern? IE: Could he make another set of leather skins from an existing pattern for a 2+2? I'm familiar with re-covering seats with new leather skins and have done a few sets before on other cars. I have the necessary hogring pliers and hogrings to do the job and just need to find some nice new black leather skins. I wonder what sort of price he would ask for the front and rear skins?

Rob (Z-Force) re-trimmed his own seats in the MaxfromAus covers and did a first rate job.

Having said that, you seats look really good :zlove:

    Cheers
