hey all im a long time lurker on the forum, i have posted a few times but nothing major so hello all. anyway to the point, i purchased a 300zx tt of THL and it appears to have some major boost leaks. i managed to fix the hoses connecting to the turbos but the seems to be another leak at one the VTC solinoids, is this common for 300zx tt also what will need to be done to fix it. so far im up for new timing belt tentioner as it was not done at 100k but well informed and water pump also it has not had a plenum pull yet. i just want it to get on the road for a couple of weeks before i do the plenum pull it if possible. any ideas on how to fix the leak. cheers pauly
That might be 1 of 2 or both hoses at the very back. Also check the hose leading from there to the hard pipe around the corner of the engine down the passenger side of the plenum.
bost leak test hi pauly wellcom you can do a search and type in boost leak test should come jt will point you in the right direction also look into a ecu talke trew one of the members makes the search ecu talk it will come up or ill PM youi directly they will give you your faults and you can rectify most if not all nyour tune needs the v2 ecu has an led sceen you mount in car it shows realtime read outs of boost and temp s dont rely on stock gauge when it shows your getting hot its allready to late get back to you soon on the member s names cheers wayne
it seems to be leaking from the VTC solinoid just under the coolant hose near the ERG valve on the drivers side you can see the air leaking as there is also a oil leak there. does the plenum need to be pulled to fix it.
