After some good advice form this forum about a non firing cylinder and an intermittent pop noise, I checked my wires for power. The coil pack connector of the offending cylinder has power to one wire when unpluged and to two when pluged in, the injector connector has power to one wire when unplugged and to both when plugged in, I would assume this is good news. However the cylinder is not firing and still has the pop like noise every now and then. Anymore advice will be most appreciated. Thanks.

    Faulty coilpack?

you can borrow one of mine to test it if needed.

maybe a Stupid Q, but have you checked the spark plug?

I recently had an internittant injector problem..Took me a while to find it as it would only do it after a hard run on the track where the injectors were subjected to lots of heat soak. The engine would run on 5 cylinders for a little while then would clear and run fine..I though it was the PTU as I still had the series 1, so I called up Caz and purchased a series 2.. I thought this fixed it for a while until the engine again ran on 5 and wouldn't clear itself..

I found the offending cylinder and measured the resistance of the injector and found it was open circuited..(It should be about 12 ohms).. You could use a stethoscope or long screwdriver to hear if the injector is clicking when the engine is at idle. (It's actually quite loud).

I assume you've tried the obvious and had a compression AND leakdown test performed on the car.

    Cheers,
    Dave.

Getting major clicking form the offending injector. Full rebuild less than two years ago so havent even considered compression testing. It all gets pulled out this week so I am pretty pumped, I would say Joe is well up to the task of sorting this all out, as well as putting on my HKS turbo's :zlove: :)
