Knocking noise

    I would say rod knock.

    Its rebuild time.
    My car did the same thing, started with a small tick, ended up loud.

    Start with the basics 1st

    before you consider rebuilds etc. try changing to a 20W 50W oil.

    It is hopefully just bled-down lifters which should come good with correct weight oil. Give it a few cold > hot > cold cycles over a few days before you judge if this was successful.

    If nogo, then look at next things such as VCT solenoids ect.

    Last resort is internal diagnostics such as compression/load balance test.

    Suggest you go see forum member Tektrader who will steer you in the right direction.:cool:

    sorry to bring back such an old thread but this is the identical fault im having and is wondering if anyone knows the end story to what was the cause, i have pm jasonrulz8. :confused:
