    Hey guys and girls,

Iv been placed at Katherine Hospital in the Territory for uni for the next 5-6 weeks. Just wondering if anyone in the club lives up this way, and is up for a beer or some fishing? My only form of transport is a mountain bike and its driving me crazy not being able to go out and explore all the sights.

Also, anyone been up this way and have any suggestions on the best day trips to do up here? Preferably on the cheap side as im a med student with very little money.

    thanks guys and girls,

    Pete

    red32 You talkin' to me?

Maybe the closest to you would be Kaz in "The Alice" (goes under the nick of "Zakkaz" and "Zakkaz001"). The trip will build up ya leg muscles!

Your a funny man Candu. I don't think Katherine would even win 2nd prize. Its a rural placement for med-school. some of my mayes are in communities of 200 people - that would really suck. Ive seen skylines, soarers and even an RX7 so far, but still no zeds.

I think my legs would need a rebuild if I was to pedal all the way to Alice - its over 1000km.

    thanks guys,

    Pete

We were up there a couple of months back and stopped for a few nights on our way to Darwin.

The limestone caves a little south of town (Cutta Cutta Caves) were interesting and a nice way to kill a morning. The gorge wasn't bad, but was still showing the scars from earlier flooding. Florence falls (think I got the name right) which is a little out of town on the road to Darwin was very nice, and if you climb up to the top there are some great pools to swim in.

At the bottom there is a nice walking track that winds through the bush and accross the river.

    And a spectacular pool.

Althhough the following sign makes you think twice about swiming, which is why the pools at the top are so popular, crocs can't swim up water falls like salmon.

Its not really the best time to go fishing (if you there for the run off after the wet season go then), but if you can get yourself a hold of a little tinny, go for a trip down the Roper river and have a go at some barra. Best fun ever...just make sure your tinny is bigger then the crocs:p :D :D

    Things to do in Katherine?

    Hi there Dr Z,

I haven't actually been to Katherine yet, to be honest didn't really have a need to go there. Going to be a bid hard to catch up with you if all you have is a 'deadly treadly', as you said long way from there to here in the Alice Springs.

Can't say I''m planning a trip up that way either for the near future...

Looks like Wykked has some nice photos, looks like a nice place to visit for sure? How's the croc signs? Yeoach.

Perhaps, if you are driving back to home you are most definately welcome to visit/drop in here. I'm sure we can chat on about Zed's all day and night!

Enjoy your stay in the N.T. mate.

    Cheers, Kaz
