Hi We just got home from test driving a tt someone is selling; unfortunately there are a few problems that might not be so 'minor'.......the car has a miss at idle and a HUGE flat spot under acceleration, so bad it would make you think it's going to stall. the injector connectors are loose, so that is probably part of the problem, but does anyone out there have any ideas??? Should we just steer clear of this car or does it sound like something that might be easily rectified? Thanks for any thoughts on the matter!!! David and Karen
Yeah be careful of those "HUGE" scams, they're really just a way to make it pretend to be better. Kind of like an eBay performance chip... There are better examples out there, just keep looking
well i dont think that's a big problem ,, just get someone to go over it with , some one that knows what hes is doing with the zed ... if its a nice car and you like it ,, go with it ...... one plug is not going to be a problem ,, these cars have more issues that a plug ..........
I guess it could be something as simple as a boost leak, but then again it could be worse. Unless you can find someone who works on or owns a Zed and knows what they're talking about to go with you to see if the problems are reasonably easy to rectify, I would give it a miss.
Thanks for that......we have Graham, who could look at it.....Tektrader This car was just 5 minutes away from where we live, so we had to look at it. It was disappointing to drive a tt for the first time and know that our n/a could suck the headlights out of it :-(
you are WAAAAAAAAAY TOO FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i accidentally hit the tab key and meant to hit the caps lock key, and it sent before completing it, but sorry, no huge penis, just huge flat spot ;-) where are you located and how much do you want for your zed......we can't see any pictures (we're kind of technologically challenged old people!!!!)
Hmm, definitely take Graham with you, I can vouch for him knowing his stuff! He will definitely be able to tell you whether it's a simple issue or not so simple.. Although I would be concerned that your NA could beat it.. I came out of an NA myself, and a healthy one at that, test drove a TT and knew straight away it was the one to buy. -Kirill
yeah, graham is a god!!!!!! he just fixed our heater core. he's AMAZING!!!!! but he's at phillip island for the weekend.
Couldn't resist My zed isn't actually for sale just yet - expression of intrest only at this stage... I'll post pics if we end up going that way tho :zlove:
settle down ,he only fixed the heater core ,who is this graham tektrader anyway, never heard of the bloke, must be some blow-in
he's a god and we're gonna devote a day to him once a year, can't think of what we'll call the day, maybe y'all can help with that we're just thrilled and relieved that we found someone who can take care of our little vinnie (that's our car's name) and isn't a butcher.......it's pretty bad to see what some people who call themselves mechanics can to do a car :-(
As Vizard said, get a compression test done, IMHO one of the best things to do when buying a second hand car!
