Quick question, I know how to hook these baby's up, just being cautious I guess. It isn't necessary to use this piece is it? (see pic)

Because it wont fit properly with it on. If you've installed a pair of these yourself you may be able to give me some tips. I notice on the fitting instructions it has a piece on adjusting the hybrid valve, has anyone had to do this or is it fine the way it comes in the box for the zed?

    Cheers

can't help u champ, 4 mine, i had to cut the standard fitting up, and use some sort of metal glue, it could thicken up, so it made it a perfect fit, but now i cant put it back to standard

If your fitting them to the stock rubber pipes, you won't need that piece. (Its used as a weld on adapter) It will fit perfectly without it.
It probably won't be adjusted correctly straight out of the box.
Start with it turned all the way anticlockwise and follow the steps.
Also, if its fluttering too much (fluttering when venting above 4-5 psi), turn it a couple of turns anti-clockwise.
This will also depend on how you want it to sound, and what boost your running at too.
How do you plan on running it? (Full vent, hybrid (50/50), or plumb back)
Its set up for hybrid at the moment.

    Hybrid

Yeah I plan on running it hybrid , running 10psi only. Having a little trouble getting it to fit on the stock pipes atm though, will have do some chopping I think. Thanks for the advice keep it coming :)

I had to use quite a bit of force to bend my brittle old hoses to affix them to my hybrids also; cutting wasn't necessary.

I wouldn't expect that you'd have to cut anything.
You'll notice that the turbo side of the pipe is larger than the intake return pipe.
Without that weld in piece, the bov should go straight back into the pipes where the factory recirc valves were taken out. Compare pipe diameters between the new hybrid valve and the factory one to prove its going to fit if your wondering. Maybe try some rp7, wd40 or silicon spray on the rubber pipes to help them go on a bit easier.

    Yes ...

Loosen all clamps and massage old hoses into place. Swearing helps but no cutting requred. :D :D :D :zlove: :zlove: :zlove:

    Loosening clamps

on the passenger side of car all the clamps are easy to get to and loosen, for some reason on the drivers side two of them are absolutely impossible to get to. So I can't loosen those clamps, it would be a much easier job on that side if I could get to them. I can't see any alternative except to cut those clamps off and replace them. I found out my car had been written off after I brought it so that may explain why alot of things at the front end aren't quite as they should be.

so it is possible to mount these using the stock piping?
i'm having no luck, going to the shops tomorrow to see if i can find some silicon piping which will make the install a bit easier hopefully.

also missing the U pipe on the passenger side doesn't help either!

Yep its possible , but I like your idea of using new pipes , should make it easy.

no worries - bought some silicon hose bits today in a couple of different shapes and lengths, so will have a go with them.

the OEM pipes are buggered pretty much anyway, so i wouldn't have had much luck with them. would be curious to see how people have made them fit.
