looking at his feedback and the items he's sold, hes been steeling a lot more than just zeds. the cop said he had stolen over 100 cars!!!!

That doesn't happen, because he bought the parts in good faith they should remain his... unless he knew they were stolen, or if the cops can prove you had suspicion that the parts weren't legit...

they said i wasnt in any trouble as when you buy from ebay the buyer has no way knowing if there stolen or not. they asked if i still had the part but i dont.

If you do, can they seize them? Do you get any reimbursement?

No, as far as i understand it from talking to my law lecturer at uni, if you buy the property in good faith then it can't be seized however, if you have a suspicion that the thing may be stolen or buy it in a dodgy way(ie out the back of a truck in a car park for much less then its worth) they can go after you.

something like this happed to my grandfather years ago, he bought a harp, had 1 broken string, bought it from Grays Auctions. got it for very cheap, later that day police came around and took it. no money back.

Jesus. That's pretty tough(especially if you've got a booking to join the Angels in the next day or two).:p:zlove::rofl:

I'd be changing your law lecturer if I were you. Stolen goods bought in good faith are seized every day. Its the law, you don't own the goods, you have been subject to a fraud.

Rebirthed cars are the worst, because it costs the victim a fortune. The insurance company might offer you the chance to buy it off them, so you get to pay for it twice.

Cars bought in good faith with undisclosed debts on them are also seized routinely.

**** that. If I bought something and it turned out to be stolen, id just tell the cops that the items never arived or something. Its not like they are going to re imburse the original owners.

Like when those bastards stole that old mans life savings. The assholes bought cars with them and when the cops found the cars, sold them at auctions and the old man didnt recieve a cent.

Selling stolen goods is perfectly legal for the government but not for anyone else.

Any actual pieces of legislation to back that up or...? Oh and cars with an undisclosed debt have absolutely nothing to do with stolen property...

So lets get this straight. It's taken about 100 stolen cars to get him.I'm so impressed with the police work. What did he do find god and give himself up ?.Probably get off to.They should hang him from a tall tree. What sucks the most is that people who bought off him honestly are also going to be victims as said . They will take the stolen goods back ( so they should ).So not only the original car theft victim is out of pocket but the person who bought off ebay in good faith takes a hit.I wonder if ebay cover losses this way ?.
