this long w/end & it now works great again.
    Drilled it out to 1.5mm

The unit comes out easily using a 17mm spanner, piece of cake.

    I LOVE THIS FORUM!!!

    Your a lucky one....

BigCol also attempted this task and i believe it still hasnt work. On the other hand Cletus did the same and his worked. 2 out of 3 for the long-weekend isnt bad, i think BigCols didnt work cause he has got a NA:LOL:

hahaha  well it has worked kinda...

The stock guage always read 0 when warm, and kinda floated around randomly when cold. The guage now reads perfectly when cold (ie starts at 6 and makes its way down towards 1) until it decides it's warm enough to drop to zero and stay there.

I believe that had my OPS not been faulty for so long (ie 5 years) then this would most likely have had a happy outcome. Was a good experience changing it though.

Col, now that you know how to remove it.....

next time you see Grant, just get the OPS off his car and swap it with yours.:D

    Max:thumbsup:

    P.S. I can help you;)

Try some compressed air for this you might find some lacquar glueing

    the sendor up.

I did this mod quite a few times in the 80's on MQ patrols and G60 patrols, work a treat on my new Terrano as well. The trick is the depth off the top of my head its either 12 or17 mm's deep Ill have to get my notes again to double check.

If it doesn't work the 1st time, pick another OPS from the wreckers

& do the mod again. It may work.

The good thing about it is that it's easy to take out. Do it next time the oil is changed.

That's what I had planned in case this didn't work.
    But no need.

This is a great little mod!
