dont know if your getting more of these but if you are, heres a pic of mine fitted yesterday for anyone interested :zlove:

as already mentioned inlets and outlets are slightly bigger, and the carbon canister lines need bent across/up but thats all easily done and all the mounts etc line up nicely :)

    very happy

Does the fitment interfere with the indicator lights? ie not the lights that are repeatedly pictured in the reo bar

MaTTz: I had to take the globes out of my indicator lights so they would fit back in.

This may be due to how i fit the intercoolers though - quite a tight fit into the stock piping so might not be pushed as far back as is possible.

Any chance someone has pics of the clearance between the SMIC and the indicator lights?

And also pics of the clearance behind the SMIC? (ie to see if it's possible to push or angle the thing back somewhat)

Not only do I want to keep my indicator lights functioning, but I'd also like to have ducting on the front of the SMIC (ducting requires some space)

It doesn't help much for your research that Japtek didn't slap their name onto these SMIC's. http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showpost.php?p=860954&postcount=9

    Try asking here.

    Here's some others you could contact for specifics;

    Thanks for the comprehensive posting

My next question, is there space to push them further back cos I like the look of the indicator lights in the bar rather than just a hole

From this pic it looks like there is a bracket to bolt the top of the SMIC to something - this might be a minor complication? (bend out the way, make a new bracket offset by an inch or two forward)

    Matt
Although I couldn't find the exact post, but I believe the owner of that Z (in Portugal) modded the side turn signal to still be used.

I believe he drilled out the blank you see to the rear of the turn signal and installed a bulb (globe) in there since it is a separately sealed section of that light unit. In essance, he modded that side turn signal (which doesn't show completely in these pics) quite effectively to be used as an upper vent for the SMIC and a turn signal or side marker. I couldn't find the thread where he posted better pics demonstrating that. Did you not mention that you were going to delete your foggies anyway in lieu of vented ports for the SMIC's. This way you can either retain the foggies and use the side turn markers as a vent source, OR delete the side marker lights entirely and use 100% of it as a vent source (by making your own duct of sorts) and replace your front foggies with a Euro type Z front front marker light that also doubles as a turn signals.
As you see, the Euro Z doesn't have the same foggies as you and I.

I actually like the way he's pulled all of this off. Retaining 100% functionality of his lights and incorporating a little extra venting for the SMIC's. Very creative IMO.
