VIC Japanese Classic Car Show - Feb 26th

The NDSOC (Nissan Datsun Sports Owners Club), of which a few of us here are members of, are putting a display together for the upcoming Japanese Classic Car Show at Dandenong Show Grounds, Feb 26th. I'll be entering my car for display as part of NDSOC and there will be heaps of different jap cars on display, new and old. So if you're not doing anything on that day, pop down for a look and say hello

 

We will be there. Racing at Broadford the night before (second round of the state series) so will leave the car on the trailer and go straight there the next morning. Looking forward to a top day, so come along and support it.

 

Don't take this as me being pretentious, but I wouldn't mind putting mine up next to yours Mark. Maybe a club stand or something?

Because I am going as part of the NDSOC display, I would figure that if you wanted your car in the same club display you would have to become a member of NDSOC (www.ndsoc.com.au). If that is something you feel inclined to do, let me know and I can forward you some information. Or PM WYKKED as his wife Jen is the membership secretary for NDSOC. Of course, there is nothing stopping you I guess getting a few guys together on the forum and perhaps having an aus300zx display on the day??

 

Yeah, I'm not too keen on the joining fee haha, might just look at a cruise up with some of the usuals

hope i can display my car with the club but still not sure if my car will be ready by then its been 4 months since i drove her found out this week the turbos i bought off the forum are stuffed so i need new turbos.thats a 1000 bucks plus down the shoot.

 

how do you know there stuffed .. what are they ?? and what do youo think is wrong with them . 1000$ for what .?

the story goes that i bought the turbos off a guy in queensland who cooked his motor when he raced it. he decided to go in a new direction with his car. so he on sold the turbos on the forum about 1or2 years back. they were t2560rs. they had only done about 1200ks after being rebuilt. good buy i thought wrong.

when we put them on the car they were leaking oil, and blowing a ton of smoke. got new seals but still no good. sent them off to a turbo place in geelong.

they found the internals were warped, and the housings were also damaged. one wont boost above 12psi, the other one not as bad but could be pron to failure.

the problem being the front part of the turbo are garrett, and the back part of the turbo were a cheap generic no name brand. the cheap parts are more the problem.

as much as we can tell they over heated when the motor over heated, and cooked the turbos as well. in all fairness to the guy who sold them to me he may not have known this.

this is a summery of what happened not going into more tech details what they found when opening them up hope this helps alex. guess i have been unlucky.

i have purchased two things off the forum. a brake master cylinder that they re sleeved wrong it did not work. and these turbos. two for two aint bad. going well buying second hand parts.

also would our z32's be classified as classics? lol there only about 22 years old

 

just to clarify...

unless you are a member of NDSOC, you will not be able to be part of the NDSOC display where my car will be. If you want to be on display, you will have to get a few guys together from here and have an aus300zx display I guess. Unless of course you want to subscribe and become a NDSOC member.

If you want to come only to spectate , then I would assume any time during the day will be fine.

 

haha my car is nowhere near show standards so ill just spectate,
unless sum of the members here are gona display there cars that arnt too modified lol
