Finally, I have broken into the 14.5s!! My work is done here - I am retiring from drag racing. Rock on NAs!!!![image]http://www.mustangmods.com/data/2281/best.jpg[/image]
Very good! That gives me confidence to brag! Hope to follow you soon enough. By the way, would you say you're a good driver or not? so I know how to take these times in perspective. I'm very inexperienced in drag racing. :-0
nice work>> when/if i ever get my gurl runnin 100% i wanna see what times i can get. are you going to the next pulic sprints also?
Drag technique.... OK, First I warm the tyres up by spinning them to the start line untill they hookup(This is not a static burnout).I then depending on how warm the tyres are(ie from previous runs), concentrate on holding the revs just right (between 3500 and 4000) and then dump the clutch. I don't care about reaction time as I'm more concerned about getting my launch RPM right. (Reaction time means shit anyway as your ET starts from when the car leaves the line). I shift into 4th gear just before the finish line, as I nearly hit redline in 3rd.As for what sort of driver I am, I will quote from the movie Topgun "I can hold my own".And yeah AZA, I should be at the next track day unless I have to fly somewhere with work. Catchas.
Owen can you send me your best QR lap time > for the lap records web page we're putting together? Pete.
1:04.29 Hey Fleet, Would be a great idea if you also had a column for tyre type and maybe other info ie: Name: Trayns Ride: Stg 4 NA. Track: QR Style: LEV1 Sprint Lap time: 1:04.29 Tyre size: 255/40/R17 Tyre type: Ventus K104 etc. Just makes it a bit fairer for us guys that don't run semi-slicks! Also will help other members on the forum for future tyre selections. Catcha dude.
meaning I have to get up to your level to do the same numbers. :YD .So what if you sit there for 5 seconds after light goes green? they won't count that, eh? They start counting after your car moves then. I'm collecting information on drags tips and tricks.
