test if you want proof or assume it is rust hello you can always do a luminol test if you like/ and or are bothered by it its the forensic test for blood based on iron its just one of many chemical reactions that you can determine if its rust or not. Treat as rust if in doubt Regards Linda
It wasn't rust. Despite being stubborn as hell when I tried scratching with my fingernail, it came off quite readily with a dab of polish. Crisis averted.
