I am wondering does anyone know if there is a web page for 240 or 260 zeds down under. I would like to do up another zed and thinking of one of those models.

    Not that I'm aware of......>>

I'm a member of the Nissan Datsun Sports Owners Club, which has a large number of early Zed members. They are currently getting their website up and running and hope to have a forum where members can log on and exchange information like we do here. Check it out at http://www.ndsoc.com.au

    Not as this association is

As Pete said, he is in NDSOC. Each east coast capital has an organisation or two and there may be several in other places. You will find there are many in the US. I suppose a search engine is a fair place to start. Other places you might like to look at
    Zcar.com
Sydney Datsun ClubThere are lots of others, finding them is the hard part!Henry

    You might like to try....

http://240z.jeromio.com/links.html which links to lots of other, mainly US Z sites.
Also http://groups.msn.com/AuzzieZcar/ which seems mainly 280zx, but still interesting. I reckon www.zcar.com is the about the best site. You'll find lots of posts from Aus owners there. I have a '77 260z 2+2, my 4th 260z (of 9 z cars), and they are a rewarding, fun car to own. Nice to drive, look great and easy to work on. Parts are generally easy, too, with the engine & gearbox very similar to many other Datsuns. Good luck! Hope you find some other links too! I suppose I don't need to tell you this, but body condition is everything with these cars. Rust has turned many z restorations into expensive heartaches.
The sills, floors, frame rails and guards tend to suffer most. It's also very rare to find an uncracked dash. You can have them reskinned but it costs big $$$'s. I think that in terms of desirability, the 240z, particularly the really early one with the flow-through vents exhausting on the hatch, is the best to restore, followed by later 240z's, 260z 2 seaters and finally 260z 2+2's, which outnumbered the 2seat 10:1 in Australian sales. Personally, I like the 2+2 best as it's most stable at speed, has a lot of interior room, and to my eye looks best, but I think I'm probably in the minority. Of course the 280zx is just about becoming worthwhile to restore. Rust with them though is even bigger problem than with the 260z. Also the coloured interiors age badly, fading to all sorts of wierd shades, before the plastic degenerates into a sugary looking powder. Not very pretty!

    Thanx

Thanks for the links been looking but so many places to see and I was hoping for a early zed site like this. And re: Rust One thing I will try to do is get a good shell as I have never been happy with the long term of any rust repairs I have done. It pops up its head all the dam time.I am keen to do a 240Z up but if that happens I might end up with a collection !
