Is the '94 Manual TT ECU the same as a '90 Manual TT ECU?

I'm thinking of buying a Mines ECU chip from Smithie, it came out of a '90 TT Manual, my zed is a '94 (March April?), does anyone know if the ECU is the same? I have a feeling that the ECU was changed sometime in '94?

    Cheers

ECU changed to 16-bit unit in 96 I believe

so the ECU should be the same in your car as compared to a 90 model.

I believe it changed in late 94, like December or something

it doesn't matter either way as they are backwards compatible.

    They may be backwards compatible.....>>

But only if he gets the complete ECU, not just the chip.

    I remember EnuffZ saying....

that he was able to use an older 8bit ecu (90 model) in his 94 model zed (normally 16 bit ecu). So yeah, I think as long as the whole ecu is changed, it should be ok. Dont quote me on that though....

    Cheers
