Ive seen many car shows over the years family members owned a lot of different show cars so i guess its in the blood.
Many thing come and go eg. chrome wheels, air brushing, chrome interior pieces, big over done body kits gone but i go to the shows these days and i see all these shit boxs that think there jdm seriously i think we can go for a more racer look with out losing class like eg. lambo , Farri,
big off set wheels do look hot i agree 'if they don't rub' wide body's also big brakes big power roll cage yes but when they sticker there cars out use zip ties to hold body work together exposed rivets or tech screws on dodgy wide body 'SLR 5000' kits on faded paint toys hanging off the car and all over the dash missing wiper blades blinkers not working aluminum rear wings that wobble more than there drivers seat and you try and talk sense into them and they say "its jdm bro" come on.
    whos with me ?

your not jdm your car is just garbage!

post up pix of this in this thread lets expose and shame these ppl and there shit boxes!

all thou i don't mind this car and i like the rims they could fit better if he shaved the back of the rim or rolled and pumped the guards to suit can't even full lock the wheel

The zip ties and stitching is actually used in low budget racing. After you buy the car mod it etc and the first track meet ususlly there isnt much money left. First track even hit a wall. You cant afford to get it all fixed and painted.

For a road car, dont drift if you can't afford to fix. Just looks bad.

JDM stands for "japanese domestic market" therefore all imports are JDM straight away.......

and whats the first thing we all do to our imported 300zx, skyline, silvias, supras etc etc?

take of all the JDM stuff we dont like and replace it with something better.....so clearly not all JDM stuff is so great after all (aiv valves, im looking at you lol)

JDM has lost any and all meaning, saying your car is JDM means jack shit......its just a grey import, thats all

so my answer to the first question? its a cop-out, and excuse not to try harder, and usally, plain old fashioned wrong coz it aint real JDM any way lol....

Yeah, I'm generally against anything other than clean simple and tidy looking cars but I do like that kind of stuff when (and only when) it's on performance cars for purely practical reasons. (i.e. 'all my time, money and effort are going into stuff to make this thing get around a race track faster so no time/effort/money will be put into it's appearance')

I didn't see anything that places the above cars in a show scene. They just look like you're everday plaything. :)

Wow, let's gate on JDM cars yet all own them.. Clever!
Mr0300, We all build cars for a reason. We all want a certain look, yours is bragging about thousands of dollars into your engine and 40" wheels. Some be the JDM look.

Stitching is the oldest drifting tool. Completely unrelated to JDM and makes you look like a tool to be honest. It's a budget way to repair panels as in drifting you constantly will hitting ripple strips etc..

Also hellaflush? Because a car has poke or
Stance it's JDM lol? More like USDM bro! Do some more research. And gtfo the fact the car scene has changed. Chromies and gay vynals are long gone, cant say I'll ever miss them either.

i think the "jdm" style cought on because alot of the guys that own these cars have no money and no mechanical ability .

    "JDM"

1, buy worn out leaking coil overs and put them as low as they go
2, buy the biggest off set japanese brand wheels you can find
3 hammer and bend guards out untill they only scrub on medium sized bumps and bigger .

    My car

1, fit good condition coil overs , sway bars
2, space out wheels to where i want them
3, lower car to a nice balance between handling , legal and looks
4 correct wheel alignment to factory specs
5, hammer guards out to clear
6 check wheel wheel to guard clearance through travel
7 pannel beat / bog guards , repaint whole car
8 dont thrash / drift the car it might get scratched

  13. mr zed x

    mr zed x chassis scrubbin..

    LOL.

that was honestly the stupidest thing ive ever read.
so your ultimately saying i have no mechanical ability or money? well i can guarantee your wrong.

tein HR's completely rebuilt and re-springed (14kg), sizeable offset wheels (18x9 +5, 18x10 +4) and i used a guard roller, no one uses hammers.

we drift the cars cause its a sport, you granny yours cause your a f**king poser. and FYI, you like mr0300 need to do alot more research before running your mouth. high offset wheels cost money (mine were nearly 5k landed, my new wheels that is, BBS GT2's) as well as the full respray, all suspension components as well as a built engine and interior. i guarantee you would shut your mouth if you saw my zed and i know alot of other would back me up on that.

also you say, bog the guards? haha. hardly a good job! cheap and nasty.
    so stop running your mouth.

    I second this

What the hell? Kids you've got it all wrong! JDM is like OEM? I don't see people calling their factory standard, originally equipt cars OEM spec? God damn retards!

You need to stop this incorrect labelling of JDM, Just stick to "RICER" please!

For those who don't know here are some JDM car modification styles:

VIP: Luxury car in black with plenty of chrome, shiny wheels, super low suspension, 100% tint

Bōsōzoku: insanely large bodykits and exhausts, google it they're nuts!

Drift: needs no explaination I hope

JGTC: racing, large wings, carbon fibre everything, racing parts galore

Kei class: all the kei class vehicles fitted out like home interiors, with water filled tubes, lights and all kinds of crazy shit.

Nostalgic/ retromod: All the old school 70's zeds, skylines etc either mint or retro fitted with all the latest RB engines, suspenion etc. perfect example is Rocky Auto -

But honestly though, I love the look of a true battle damaged drift AE86, Chaser, Silvia or skyline, stripped interior, different rims front and back, big rear wing, massive camber and offset.

    wow what happened here?

The OP posted about people who think they have JDM? cars..
People who go the wrong way about it, he was looking for failed atempts..

Why Mr Zed X did you blow up about it? He didnt appear to have anything against you or your ride.

I can see your point, i can see and know youve put alot of time and effort and money into making your car YOURS, but i think you missed the point of the thread....

Quite simple really... if your car was original sold to the Japanese domestic market and then imported to Australia it's JDM. Otherwise you can suck my hairy ball sack!

For wanna be "JDM" people... If you have gtr badges on a gts, type R badges on non type R Hondas, shitty backyard interior re-trims (mainly done through spray painting plastic parts), cannon exhausts, stupidly loud BOF valves bonnet scoops on cars that don't need one, boots full of stereo equipment, disco lights, chrome mags, fake carbon fibre, Altezza Style Tail Lights just to name a few.... You are the proud owner of a RICER MOBILE [TIS]

Luckly it's usually Honda or BMW drivers that are at fault. :p

In case you're still not sure here are some photos to compare you car with:

They have missed the point of this thread. Whats wrong with you ppl did i say i don't like your car or jdm cars period im actually planing to change the direction of my own car to a more race ready look which is what jdm the "STYLE" is all about but i wouldn't classify it as jdm style thou as ill be missing a few main jdm quality's as in weight reduction racing seats roll cage carbon bonnet and i wont be hanging a pikacho off my toe hook either.

    I just don't like jdm posers that claim there shit boxs are to the jdm styling but are just a hunk of junk thats all i said just wanted to see some funny photos of that like these shit boxes;
