Hey guys, Thought I would post this here, to let people know that it's possible to do your interior yourself and where to get it all. All thanks goes to Simon (hot300zx) for telling me where to get it from and how much. The fabric is called "Foam Backed Black Velour" and you get it from Vyfab they are in Moorabbin (Melbourne) phone (03) 9555 6033. They will actually post it if you need to, I live in Geelong and there was no place to get it, and they sent it down. Also grab contact adhesive (its about $15 a can). You'll need about 3 metres of the fabric, if its your first time, also grab maybe a little more, and some glue remover for fabrics. (All up it cost me $114 for fabric and glue and delivered to my door) It was my first time, and I just pulled out with enough fabric, Simons a legend for knowing how much I needed, at the end of the 30 hour job, I finshed with no fabric left (besides scrap) and no glue, and I had just completed everything (Thanks again Simon) Here are some pics of the task at hand. (And also do it yourself if you can, if you get someone to help, it can become a issue, and they won't be your friend once you've finished because you would've cursed them so much.) Any questions or anything, just give me a yell. Good luck to those that try it. It looks unreal as you can see.
Looks really good Whats with the funny stuff near the top of the glovebox? (indentations?) apart from that really professional  Regards Trev
Shift boot? Doors are a bit of a pain, just take the pannel off the door, there is a tech guide to that, once you've got it off rip the fabic off, and also the black stuff if it doesn't come off with the fabic, then you'll be left with that vynil stuff. Sand the glue from it, and then you've got a good surface to work with. With the part you have ripped off, make sure you didn't rip it too, lay it on the fabric you have, and cut out around it, watch out foor the part that connects the door around the seatbelt part, (where the seatbelt emerges from the door) cause the stock ones are a little tight around that area so you might need to cut yours a little longer. Then glue it on with strong adhesive, let the glue on both surfaces sit for about a minute. Then you'll be fine. And those bits around the glove box are speed grooves. Haha nah, just a mistake I guess, I need to use the glue remover to bring that back out. Then it will look fine.
looks fantastic Paul,i may even do it to mine one day lol ,if thats a navman S80,youre never looking inside my car again The indentations can happen,if you apply the glue too thick, then press down while fitting the velour, its an easy fix, less glue now the back paul
Oh my god! No way! I didn't even know you had one, and yes... its an S80... I can see my ZX turning out like yours in no time, lol. I fixed another part with glue remover, so I will do that now Next is to be the back, will get it looking like yours .
ah yer sounds kinda trky lol As for the boot I all I have done is made a false floor outta 18mm MDF and bought some carpet and glue lol. I made the amp rack on the parcel shelf wich looks good but I am still unsure as to what design I want in my boot I think I will have to go nutz with fiberglass That retrim is nice and suttle no crazy fluro colours there
Paul , Why are you giving Simon credit for this. I did his and he was asking me all the answers to the question you asked.
Haha, i'm sorry Kathy, Simon does have proof with him doing it with his long hair though, I remember that time when he was growing his nails a little longer too. Those were great times Simon. (Kathy did do the interior, she did still seem to have a happy face the next day which was odd, mine is still dealing with the lack of sleep and stress.) (Also by the way, if you do this, try to keep the bolts near the pieces they came out of, I thought I could be cool and pull it all out, re-trim it, and put it back in and expect to know which bolt goes there. Instead, now I ended up with a jar labled "If it rattles use one of these", nice jar though.)
Great job, and Kathy did a great job of Simon's as well. Despite his protestations the hairless arm and long fingernails are a bit of a give away Tony
Simon was just trying a new look, or unless he was so stressed out with all the pieces in the interior, and lost all his hair. That could've been it.
Why are you giving Simon or Kathy credit when I told them what material and how to do it in the first place?? :bash:
tek who ??? ,have we even met dude ,next youll be saying i copied your rear stereo boot install :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:
