hey guys ive got about 15k now and the zx i want to buy is only setting me back 9k due to it being a friends ZX.

Ide like to know what insurance companies you can reccomend for me.

    Im 20 years old ( turn 21 in march 5 )
Just got off my p's bout 2 weeks ago
    I had 2 accidents in 2007 ( both ride offs )

I tried Shannon's and allianz, both said i need to be 25 years old and also cant have any accident history for the past 5 years.

So i went to justcar insurance and the quote i got was 2.6k for per year with an excess of about 1500$, and payout is only 10k.

I thought this was good at first, but i remmember hearing that they dont have any of the good features like RAC, example : road side assistance and window repairs, breakdown assistane, etc etc.

So if anyone can reccomend another company to me please do, ideally ide like to pay under 2k for my insurance per year, and would like some kind of side services like RAC offer. ( RAC apparently dont insure zx's so it rules them out ).

i did search, i just thought my case was rather unique having 2 accidents in less than 1 year so i thought all those typical insurance companies wont be able to help me.

i guess im kind of looking for one who wont mind so much about my accidents..

Your dreaming, being in much the same situation as you, although my accidents were not write offs, but were my fault, the only company that would insure me is just cars, you could try young and cool but they will likely be more expensive, just get just cars and NRMA roadside assistance, or the WA Equivelant, RAC or whatever it is, if you find anything better let me know but i doubt you will and please learn to use search this therad comes up every week

Bugga, looks like im stuck with justcar..

like i said i did search but didn't find anything helpful, lots of questions and not so many answerers.

Also, prestige website says justcar dont insure in NT and WA?..is this right? as i have friends who are also with justcar and are in WA?

i managed to bring the justcar quote to 1600/year by making my access go upto around 3k LOL...

also, with the claims and accidents thing, since i didnt actually make an insurance claim on my accidents, but still had the accident, do i still have to list it ?

if they were write offs then it is probably listed somwhere that they were written off, etc, it would not be hard to follow a paper trail, your call, it has been done before, but if they find out could be up for some massive penalties

Just Car do insure in WA. They are one of the only options for these type of cars if you are under 25.

I'm 21yo, 15k agreed value cover, $908 premium, but no accidents.

When you say you wrote off two cars, but didn't make a claim, what actually happened. Reported to police etc?

first time i destroyed a traffic light and went through it and smashed into a car, so i had to pay for the pole and the car out of my pocket, i didnt report any of it to my insurance company, but the police knew about it.

second time i rear ended a camry, same deal, i payed for it from my pocket and then reported to police.

both times i didnt call my insurance company as i didnt have FULL COMP so i wouldent be covered anyway.

Ive been pushing for a $13k writeoff, all for $1200p.a. Im now 24, drive a non turbo aus spec with a zero incident history.

no but basically you are at fault for anything that there is noone else to blame ie hail, tyre blowout, somone crashes into you at a carpark and does not leave a note, etc etc

Not if it is directly someone else's fault and you can prove it and provide their details to your insurance company. You may have to pay it and get a refund though.

If it is ambiguous or you don't have their details it still counts as your fault as far as the insurance company is concerned.

My car got hit while it was parked in town a while ago, the person who hit me drove off but someone left a note on my car with their number plate. unfortunately who ever left the note didn't leave their details so they could not verify it so the accident was still considered my fault for insurance purposes.

so if someone smashed my rear window with a brick, or kicked in my door, or stole my rims, or something that cost say 1k, and i cant prove who done it, i have to pay 3k for them to fix it?

well.... that sux big time, im gonna have to carry a camera + pad and pen in the damn glovebox everywhere i go now for when some prick smashes into me.

I rang them up, added all my mods, increase my excess to the maximum level and received that.

IMHO, better to have a higher excess because you only have to pay that IF something happens. Increase in excess of 600$ led to a 400$ reduction in my premium.

Pretty much, unless the police caught who ever did it and then your insurance company should be able to get the money from them. Saves you trying to get money from someone caught doing something like that, it can be very difficult.

I have 3rd party, fire and theft with just car. I also have RAC road side assist.
I can't complain, then again no other company would cover me at 18yrs of age. Plus you never know, you may be lucky enough to receive undies in the mail. ;)
