I have followed the threads on insurance and so I shopped around online and I have just insured my ZX with Ozicare for $362.22 Rating 1 for a 48 yr old + wife based in post code 5501 South Australia. I included all the usual goodies like wheels, sounds etc and this is what they came back with! The excesses are not crippling either and you get 1 free windscreen a year with no losses.
    Happy driving!

holy crap thats good!! i have been looking around alot in preparation for purchase of my zed, and found most streamline insurance groups wont go below $1200 per year. now i acknowledge that im 17 but this was under my dads name only saying that an under 25 year old would be driving as a secondary driver (my dad is a harmless old fart at 56 yo) so yeah, ill deffinately look into ozicare. by the way is yur car aus delivered?

That is a bargain!! I just payed my premium of $1640 with Just Cars (Rating 4 as i just had a at-fault crash)

If you don't need all your free windscreens can I have one? Mine is scratched up from the fence  :p

    Insurance on 92 ZX

I am still a newbie here so don't ask too much from me!!!!!!!!!!!!
The car is a 92 J spec 300ZX, fully comp. Both my bride and me are 48, no accidents, rating 1 with AAMI for many years, we live in country SA about 1 hour north of Adelaide.
I included all the stuff the car has such as twin turbo etc, sounds system, wheels and tyres etc and that was the quote they came up with. I did it all online and only had to send a copy of my last renewal.
At one point it was a possibility that I would have to go to Rating 6 and that was going to be $602.70.

Yes tried out www.ozicare.com.au for a Melbourne Metro 1990TT.
Taking the policy excess up to $950 I could get the quote as low as $365 year or $451 with the standard $450 excess. This was entering the data using "no modifications" for a Twin Turbo, garaged with an immobilizer, alarm and Rating 1 driver aged...sob, sob 53.

With modifications the first time I thought it was $600.

I have a renewal with Torque for $695, sum insured $15,000. But that's def for a Twin Turbo.

I just wonder if push came to shove whether you'd have any problems with a claim with Ozicare as when I checked last year most companies run a mile from twin turbos.

    Regards
    John

How did you select Twin Turbo

    I didn't get that option for a Z32... (i suspect their 89 turbo is a z31)

NTF - all I pulled up was a 1990 300ZX 3.0MPI. There was no Twin turbo option. I think Neill mentioned he put down the twin turbo under modifications.
When you click "modified" perhaps the insurers check out the mods with you.
