Wanted to ask has anyone installed extra 12 volt power outlets inside the Z32 passenger cabin or rear cargo area?

I guessing I'm not the only person who may wish to run more than one 12V item these days - e.g. phone chargers, portable DVD players, GPS units, portable chiller boxes, etc. but for a manual shift car the single cigarette lighter socket under small trap door in the centre console is not offering the most comfortable solution.

If you can help, please explain where/how you installed. I'm presuming auto electrician help is recommended unless you're a car wiring expert?

    Thanks!

Whoever owned my Z in Japan must have been

an accessory freak - wanted to make a coffee while charging his phone and having the radar detector on alert, and keeping the drinks cool in the car fridge ....

It came with 2 12v double adaptors wired up so that connecting to the cigarette lighter gave 3 or 4 (can't remember exactly) 12v outlets. I found them tucked under the passenger seat.

The only time I utilised them was driving Melb-Perth; had the mobile charging in 1 and once I got to the WA border, hooked up a radar detector to another. I now have a hard wired phone, and radar detectors are illegal in Vic.

If this is of any help I can look at it closer for you.
