As much as it looks good now, you WILL be up for a few thousand in repairs you haven't seen it. and definitely a paint job - no cut and polish will bring it up to scratch.

But hey, buy it. I'd like to see it brought back to life. but you're buying a project, make no doubts about it.

I am under no illusions about that. And am expecting and happy enough to drop $3-4k in repairs straight up. And of course the cut and polish won't get it to scratch but will get it through roadworthy and have it driving again without terrifying everyone haha.

Full respray is not something that is immediately needed but something that will happen in time.

Well it looks like you've got the right attitude. Go for it.

    Anything after market?

Well only thing that is sort of after market is the front bumper but its really just an OEM TT bumper that we believe was changed over in Japan before it was imported. Other than that there is a Fairlady Z emblem attached to the screw cover strip of the center console.

Nothing else that has been seen so far has been changed I mean I can't even use the radio properly because its still the original JDM stereo with its tuning designed for Jap frequencies that really don't overlap with ours.

I made the mistake of paying $5000 for my NA. I was clueless about zeds at the time, so i didnt know better. I was EXTREMELY lucky that mine was already regoed, and mechanically perfect besides a leaky ps pump, which was a quick fix. If i had have been smart enough to check with knowledgeable people like you have i could have saved myself 2-3k for a vehicle of similar condition. My suggestion to you is to follow the advice given here. Make an offer of like $800 because getting it over the pits will cost you several thousand dollars.

In the state im seeing that car i would be concerned about:
    Condensation in the fuel tank
    Underbody rust
    A & b pillar internal rust
    Engine internals (bearings and rings)
    The entire wiring harness

Good luck on your purchase, dont forget if it falls through the for sale section on this forum has plently of reasonably priced zeds which reputable members can vouch for.
