hey guys, kinda stumped atm... did a pp and swapped injector connectors to new quick release bosche ones, put it all back together now the injectors wont fire... all earth point are on, clips were wired in the correct way, we have spark, nothing else was touched while working on it... it does have a series 1 ptu, think its unlikely to fail at the exact time the car has had work on it cas?? ecu?? any idea/s??
Ptu only does coils from what I know. So it wouldnt affect injectors. did you put the earth strap back on? Its like a flat braded thing. Dont remember if this stops the injectors firing or not
earth strap is attached, guessing you didnt read the original post... yeah am kinda grasping at straws with my idea's as am too exhausted to think properly and didnt get finished last nigth till bloody late
No chance the earth at the back of the plenum was left off at any stage? Welcome to come grab another PTU and try it. Have another Cas here too... Defo injectors not firing? Turned by hand and had a listen? Is there power to the injectors?
I am assuming its not throwing any codes. I would also be looking at the CAS however I always thought the CAS is waht times the entire engine not just injectors, it sets the base ignition timing so without it I would not expect the engine to fire either as it has no idea where tdc is. have you tried manually firing the Injectors with the CAS. also have you done a continuity test across your connections to ensure the new plugs have seated correctly. Just some ideas to try.
Worth noting here lads that the injector operation will not be affected by bad/missing earths as well as a ptu. Ptu only affects ignition operation. Reason is that injectors are above engine earth. They are -ive side switched via the ECU to ground and are live on the +ive side. The cas goes to ground via a dedicated earth wire AND via its metal case to the low side head. L8r E
