Iv just been told by my mechanic that i need 'new injectors' for my Z. Unfortunatly i have NO idea what he means by this. He suggested that i might find a second hand 'injector rail' but again other than making my car sound like a junkie, i dont know exactly what an injector does (something to do with petrol) where it is located (somewhere under the bonnet) and what they look like (a giant hypodermic needle?). Can any1 please shed some light on this subject and maybe give me some advice as to what to do/ where to go/ how much this will cost?
    Cheers :zlove:

Cresta in Brisbane would have a few floating around the shop, he could hook you up with some.

Who is your mechanic - does he know Zeds very well?

If not I would get a second opinion from someone who does (know Zeds). As already stated it could be your electrical connectors which get very oxidized and don't allow electric current to flow. If it is your injectors and it may well be as when I bought my NA (150,000Kms) one injector had already been replaced and when I pulled my injectors out I had to replace another two as they didn't come up to their resistance specification. So replacing them can be costly - they are around $400 each here in Australia from Nissan. You can get them from the US and they are around $1100 (Aus) plus freight. Or you can go to a wreckers for them and they will be around $60 each but check the resistence value against that in the Tech Section. Also you will be up for a fair bit of mechanics time as you have to remove your plenum (to of your engine) to get to them. Good luck but try and become more mechanically adept as these cars can cost you a lot of money in maintenance. Do a search in Google for injectors and how they work and try and learn what your mechanic is on about.
