hey all... just bought some new 555cc injectors and tried to instal them. The injectors fit in the fuel rail but the metal peice that goes over the top with the two screws in doesnt fit over the top. The car is a 96 model z32 so its the series 2 injectors i purchased. The old injectors had the code a46-00. the new ones are 1402-rn008. I have checked the hks site and these are supposidly correct but for some reason they dont fit. Im wondering if i need new metal covers or wat i should do to make these fit. I thought they would be a straight swap. Any help would be greatly appreciated. cheers
The injector caps should still fit fine if you got the correct injectors. They can be stubborn to push the injectors in the entire way. Are you certain the injectors are properly seated? And secondly, have you compared new and old injectors side by side to double check they are identicle?
yeah i have compared them... they arent the same, the top is different. On the old ones it is a round peice away from the connection at the top, and on the new ones it is a square peice. It isnt the fitting into the fuel rail that is the issue... it does fit in it but the metal peice doesnt fit on top at all... i just wanna know if i got the wrong ones for a 95-96 orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr have i not got a series 2 fuel rail.. and i have previously had 90-94 injectors and need some series 1 ones... know wat i mean? so they should fit in easily right? and if they dont, something is wrong... i just wanna know if the originals which have "a46-00" on them are from a series 1 fuel rail or a series 2 or both... any help would be greatp.s. magicmike... if these are wrong i will happily send them to u
a46-00 Seems to appear on many JECS/Nissan injectors. Are the original ones top feed or side feed? What colour?
A46-00 is the JECS (Japanese Electronics Control Systems) code that denotes fuel system-injector. Are the connectors rectangle or sort of oval on each set of injectors?
ok no worries, prob solved. 90 to 93 has a round top... 94 to 96 has a square top. i beleived i had a 96 engine... evidently the fuel rail wasnt... so all fixed. thanks for all the help
If you swap the rail. You'll also need to do some machining. Not a big deal but might be easier to swap injectors.
if he has a actual series 3/4 late model z stick with new style injectors. you would actually need 2 fill the lower insulator area to fit old injectors ie adding weld no machining down !! !!! you machine series 1 plenums down to fit the new style ... simply sounds like u have been sent the wrong injectors mate!!! i havent heard of hks injector on a Z either tho!! there usually nismos, sards, deushworks or bosch
If... ...if it is a late series engine that is running early series injectors this would have already been done and now he would need to machine? I'm assuming it's not a late series motor with the old injectors. HKS make top feeds for Skylines I'm pretty sure... which will fit late series Z's.
