    Hi Guys,
Hopefully you may be able to shed a bit of light on my problem.
I bought new connectors from BB, but they had no tails.
When removing the old connectors, they fell into a million pieces, basically dust.
    This is my problem.
I now have 2 wires for each injector, as it should be, but have no idea which wire goes to which side of the connector. As I said, the originals fell apart.
One wire is thicker than the other. Can you tell me which side of the connector the thicker wire goes too.
With the clip at the rear of the injector plug (towards the guards), does the thicker wire go to the Left or the Right side of the plug.
    Cheers
    Kerry

Many threads on this. It doesn't matter which goes into which.

I have searched the Tech Section

And the only thing I can find is "How to Clean the Injector Plugs".
But nothing on which wire goes where in the plug?
From what I have been led to believe, it does matter, as one spade is Positive and the other Netural.
Unless the wiring is all the same on each Plug.
Is this the case, or not?
    Cheers

    he's right

injectors are not polarity sensitive,(some are for other reasons) so it wont matter which side the wires end up on, coil pack connectors on the other hand are.

    Thanks Guys

Just wanted to make sure, as Im also soldering on new spades & lenghtening the wiring loom, so as not to put any strain on the wiring.

    Interesting solution to Injector plug

at rear of plenum on the pasenger side.
When fitting new plug bought from the forum, I found that the plug mentioned above would not clip into place no matter how hard I tried.
On closer inspection of the problem, I found that the Fuel Rail interfered with the 2 pegs that hold theplug retaining clip.

The simple solution was to cut these 2 lugs off the plug and reverse the retaining clip to the centre of the plenum. this allowed the clip to operate as intended and also allowed the plug to be pushed home and clipped into place.
    :):):)

So, for all you budding DIY freaks out there, be warned, that you may find the same problem when changing your Injector Plugs.

    Cheers

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, while it's difficult its not impossible, especially in the scale of zed problems and fixes. I used an assortment of tiny flathead screwdrivers and pliers to get it past the rail without cutting anything off.

Not possible with my fuel rail position.

I checked all available alternatives prior to cutting the posts off.
With mine, the Plug would only push down half way because the fuel rail has a bend upwards at that point, not much mind you but sufficient to stop the plug from pushing home.
The fuel rail sat directly under the posts & metal clip, so that the plug still had half way to go before clipping into place. No way was it possible to move the rail or lever the plug, without the possiblity of breaking one or the other.
As you no doubt know, No Two Zeds are the same in some respects.:rofl:

Keza .. i will whip you a PM over the next couple of days regarding this issue ...

It is well covered in the original K-ZED "for sale" thread on these Connectors .. i noted that you were a participant in that thread and assumed that you would have been aware of that particular point and the several solutions ...

i have been slack in that i intended to post up in my "for sale" thread a few more "fitting tips" such as this fix ... a must do, it seems ... apologies.
